So I posted a while ago regarding sibling names for our daughter Arabella/Belle/Bella. We now know we are having a boy and I am STRUGGLING with boy names!
I like a lot but don’t love any!

Our list at the moment is:
Theodore/ Teddy/Theo
Harrison /Harry
Zachary /Zac
Jude
Luca or Lucas
Nico

middle name likely Joshua after dad or Jack after my great grandad. Also have a step son Cameron/Cam! Thanks for any help in advance 🥰

Theodore is elite!
I also like Jude a lot! But Jude doesn’t go with those middle names really. Zachary Jack doesn’t work either..

GreyhoundGal1 · 03/04/2025 21:13

What about Jonah, Ezra, Ethan, Hugo, Marco, Malachi

littlebilliie · 03/04/2025 22:12

Elias
Gideon
Alden
Thaddeus

Of your list, Zachary seems the best fit with Arabella to me. Similar style of traditional well known/used name without being quite as trendy as some of the others on your list like Theodore, Jude etc - but with a more popular sounding diminutive like Belle/Bella with Zac (well Zac isn’t super popular in itself but it sounds similar to popular Jack).

Max would be a similar style too - but Maximilian isn’t to everyone’s taste as it’s so long. Maybe Maxwell? Sounds quite Scots with Arabella and Cameron since all those names originate from there. Maxwell is also a similar “Surname” style to Harrison and Cameron.

Another obvious one might be Alexander - Arabella and Alexander do work well together imo (I don’t think same initials matters so much for different sex siblings).

ETA: I think both Joshua and Jack work with Zachary, Maxwell and Alexander. Personally I’d use both from each side of the family - first name then Joshua Jack, but I then I love alliteration but understand some people aren’t as keen.

I realllly wanted teddy but my best friend at the time had a boy shortly before me and used the name. I didn’t love any boy names when I was pregnant and my little boy was nameless for a few days. We were going to use franky for my daughter so we went with that in the end and I hated it when I was pregnant and I love it now!

my daughter is convinced is name will be Theodore and won’t hear anything else 😂 yes agree the middle names won’t fit with Jude, think it would be Joshua if we go with Zachary. I do like to use family names as middle names. Can’t believe how hard I’m finding this! Had my daughters full name sealed at this stage in pregnancy lol

I like all of these apart from Marco but know an Ezra and Malachi, Partner said no to Ethan and Jonah would mean we need to consider alternative middle names. George is another option to honour parters grandmother Georgina, but that wouldn’t go with that either!

I have considered Alexander or Xander as a name, however it’s my uncles name who were not super close to so that’s the only thing that puts me off slightly!

I think this will be me finding it so difficult just can’t connect with a name like I could when pregnant with my daughter! I loved her name so didn’t care what any thought but I can easily be put off any other the boys names were considering as none are screaming out to me!

Aww it’s so hard I def found boys names harder too. Well then go with Theodore and she’ll love it!
we always do family middles names too - unfortunately they aren’t names I love but it’s family tradition and I do love that concept.

I think Jonah Jack or Jonah George sound nice - a bit alliterative. But I do know someone with a very similar first name and that surname so may just be used to it! I think just focus on finding a first name you love as that's the important bit, then can worry about middle name. All your options are good though. Maybe do one of those name apps where you and your partner pick names and it shows which one you match on?

Yeah that’s a good idea! Thanks

Blake Joshua?

Arabella, Blake and Cameron work well I think.

Firsttimebabymummy · 05/04/2025 09:39

I think Theodore pairs well with Arabella. Like Zachary too.
