Thoughts? It’s our top boys name! I am 23 weeks pregnant :)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Great name, go for it

Bluelavenders · 01/04/2025 22:08

It’s the German word for Jew. I’m not keen at all

RightOnTheEdge · 01/04/2025 22:09

I really like it.

Moreteaandchocolate · 01/04/2025 22:18

I’m not too keen as I only know female Judes - short for Judith.

Lalaghja · 01/04/2025 22:24

I do like it but it’s suddenly become very popular. I think it will be top 10 soon. If that doesn’t bother you then got for it!

TartanMammy · 01/04/2025 22:28

I know 3 Jude's born in the last 2 years. But if that doesn't bother you it's a lovely name.

HoldingTheDoor · 01/04/2025 22:32

I strongly dislike it and it’s so overused if that bothers you.

Luzina · 01/04/2025 22:34

It’s a lovely name.

Bluelavenders · 01/04/2025 22:36

It sounds feminine, short for Judith

PrincessOfPreschool · 01/04/2025 22:37

I like it. DS's name and he's the only one in his year of 180. I think there is one further down the school (someone's brother from their year). I have worked with children for 7 years and never had one in my preschool, although we currently have 3 Rivers (2 girls and a boy) out of 45 kids!

SpottedDonkey · 01/04/2025 22:38

It will become increasingly popular due to Bellingham, who is already the most globally famous English player since Beckham and will probably be the next England captain.

BootballJoy · 01/04/2025 22:41

It's a popular boy's name for aged 5 and under. The female Judes will be 50s + I guess. Won't seem feminine at all to his peers. I don't love the sound of it though.

Jollyjoy · 01/04/2025 22:49

I love it.

AmusedLemur · 02/04/2025 00:41

Love love love

BeaAndBen · 02/04/2025 00:47

I know a handful of men in their late 40s/early 50s called Jude and three boys under 5. I think it’s a lovely name.

I do know some women called Jude and it’s always short for something (Judy or Judith)

ThePinkPowerRangers · 02/04/2025 08:50

I know 3 Judes, I like it but it’s popular.

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 02/04/2025 08:52

It’s ok. I prefer Jacob, Joel or Joseph.

YourDenimUser · 02/04/2025 13:13

I love it @toometooyou

Emanwenym · 02/04/2025 15:46

I don't like it. Star of David, Bellingham etc. Likely to be very popular, Know several female ones.

Livpool · 02/04/2025 15:48

I like it - my DS (9) is called Jude. There weren’t as many around when he was born

murraymcgill · 02/04/2025 15:50

Love this name

Bluelavenders · 02/04/2025 15:57

Having risen from nowhere, it could well fall out of fashion and start to sound dated

I know lots of female Judes/Judeys

LaughingLemur · 02/04/2025 16:02

It's a name associated with the Nazi persecution of Jewish people during WW2, so I'd avoid it for that reason.

Emanwenym · 02/04/2025 16:05

Babies called Jude in England & Wales since 1996

It's far more popular than I thought
