I know/know of 3. All under 5.

YourAmberFawn · 10/03/2025 16:23

I know 2. One is 6 months and one is 3

Octavia64 · 10/03/2025 16:26

Never heard it.

I don't have young kids

Wallabyone · 10/03/2025 16:27

It's very popular here...Aria and Ariana.

TwattyMcFuckFace · 10/03/2025 16:27

Very popular.

I work in a team of 12, and 3 of them have grandchildren named Aria.

Evenstar · 10/03/2025 16:29

I know two under a year old, but I do volunteer with babies. I hadn’t met one before these two and I worked in Early Years for many years until relatively recently.

TorroFerney · 10/03/2025 16:31

One at my daughters secondary school.

Emanwenym · 10/03/2025 16:33

Babies called Aria in England & Wales since 1996

If you look on the ONS baby name page, you can check how popular it is in your area.

DoAWheelie · 10/03/2025 16:35

The only time I've ever heard it was the character in pretty little liars.

It's definitely not 'unique', as that means one of a kind. It's not even unusual though I'm afraid. It's comfortably top 50 and has been for a good few years now. Popularity varies from area to area but, around me, Aria is one of the most common names in girls under 5.

LegoAirlines · 10/03/2025 16:37

I know lots of Arias and an Aariya (who I'm convinced was named just to be first on every alphabetical list).

Gymmum82 · 10/03/2025 16:38

Very popular where I am. I know 7 just of school friends of my 2 daughters. Id say it’s unlikely she’d be the only one in her year group. Maybe even her class

Moreteaandchocolate · 10/03/2025 16:38

I don’t know any across my children’s 3 schools.

Darkclothes · 10/03/2025 16:40

I've seen it on MN a few times, but don't now any in real life- but then I don't have children and don't know many.

Note, that its the name a music award in Australia.

Do you definitely want something unique? Aria is a lovely name and it's fine to like names that are fashionable.
Ria, Artemis, Artemisia, Harmony and Allegra are all less common than Aria for children born today. What is it about the name that you like?

LastMincePie · 10/03/2025 16:48

I have a 12 year old called Aria and she hasn't met another one. The rise in popularity in recent years does make gift shops a bit more fun for her now! Grin

MeAndMyCatCharlotte · 10/03/2025 16:52

Ari names - Aria, Arianne, Arianna (and I even met a mum with newborn boy Ari recently) are extremely popular where I live (South West England).

Pigsinblankets13 · 10/03/2025 16:56

There's an Aralie at DDs nursery, have you thought/ heard of that? I love it!

We want an Italian name (family is Italian) that is more of a modern name in Italy, and not very common in Italy either, so we are trying to find something that suits both England and Italy. It’s very difficult to get something that we feel suits both countries, and easy to pronounce in both.

It's currently ranked at number 31, so pretty popular.

Not only is it popular, but it only entered the top 1,000 in 2010. That's a very fast rise which means it will date badly - think Gary, Darren etc

Slothlydoesit · 10/03/2025 17:53

Lots under 2. It’s only just become really popular.

wizzywig · 10/03/2025 17:55

Popular with Hindus that I know

Pumpkincozynights · 10/03/2025 17:57

I don’t know any.

Ari is a traditional Hebrew boy's name.
