It’s very pretty, I love it.

RedToothBrush · 09/03/2025 16:32

Sail away sail away sail away.

PanzLabyrinth · 09/03/2025 16:33

Love. Have always loved Enya's music, too. If DC is overwhelmed / overtired we always put it on to soothe them.

spiderlight · 09/03/2025 16:35

Love it. I know a lovely young Enya - she's about 12 now and it really suits her. 'Amarantine' was my calming album before I had my DS, so he might well have ended up as an Enya if he'd been a girl.

Moreteaandchocolate · 09/03/2025 17:05

Enya is lovely - I associate it strongly with the singer so hum “sail away” to myself when I hear it, but I’m sure this generation won’t have such a strong association (if any) as me!

Ddakji · 09/03/2025 17:07

Nice. I doubt any of her generation will associate it with Sail Away.

Celynfour · 09/03/2025 17:13

I know a lovely late teen Enya and think it’s really pretty

yes better than Anya

SkaneTos · 09/03/2025 22:25

I think Enya is a beautiful name!

I'm Scandinavian, and when I hear the name Enya I think only about the famous Irish singer and composer. Her songs are absolutely beautiful, so that is a positive thing! I don't know how well-known she is among young people today (I'm in my mid-thirties).

Jeschara · 12/03/2025 21:44

If I had a third and it was a girl it would have been Enya. Love it.

DramaAlpaca · 12/03/2025 21:45

Really lovely.

blackbadger · 13/03/2025 18:35

@Jeschara would you mind saying what your other girls names are?
We have an Enya and expecting another girl ...so looking forward ideas! 😊

oakl79 · 13/03/2025 18:42

Pretty name. Not heard a lot, and I meet a lot of people through my job!

Whatareyoutalkingaboutnow · 13/03/2025 19:10

Gorgeous. (also a big fan of Enya's music).

Bournetilly · 13/03/2025 19:10

Awful

LyndaSnellsSniff · 15/03/2025 22:53

Beautiful

BunnyRuddington · 15/03/2025 22:57

Now I’ve got Sail Away as an ear worm…

You hardly ever hear the song these days and I doubt many Alphas will have heard of it in years to come.

LyndaSnellsSniff · 15/03/2025 23:11

Wasn't it called Orinoco Flow...?

BunnyRuddington · 15/03/2025 23:14

Wasn't it called Orinoco Flow...?

It could well have been. Never liked the song. Thought it was hugely overrated at the time but appreciate others may have liked it.

LilyJosephine · 15/03/2025 23:31

Lovely name - simple but pretty and interesting. But it’s a bit of an Adele situation - as afaik Enya is still fairly uncommon so you/she would probably get “like the singer?” every so often (though it would be unlikely from DD’s peer group!)

You could use the original Irish Eithne? spelling to get away from that but that might make her life more difficult (spelling/pronunciation wise).

Manchesterbythesea · 15/03/2025 23:33

It’s actually lovely. It’s a wonder it’s not more popular really.

ParrotParty · 15/03/2025 23:33

We know 3 under 5, its lovely. Ages well too.

RobertJohnsonsShoes · 15/03/2025 23:35

Sarah way Sarah way Sarah way Sarah way

MirandaBlu · 18/03/2025 07:25

Personally, I'd spell it Eithne. It's a nice sound, though.
