Which name is best?

Nina
Gaia
Anya
Genevieve (nickname Genie).

I really like Gaia but wondering if its a bit of a marmite choice? Is Nina a bit boring? Argh, so confused!!!

Other names I like:

Anya or Frieda.

selondon28 · 04/03/2025 13:08

I like Anya and Genevieve, also Frieda and Honour

BornSandyDevotional · 04/03/2025 13:14

I think they're all lovely, to be honest. I know a lovely Nina and used to work with a wonderful and super bright Gaia. But Genevieve is absolutely beautiful and will be at every life stage. You have great taste!

Zippidydoodah · 04/03/2025 13:14

Anya

Dislike Frida and Honor

BasicBeach · 04/03/2025 13:16

Nina isn't boring it's pretty, multicultural and classic. Although my phone does autocorrect to Ninja.

I prefer Nina

Ferrazzuoli · 04/03/2025 13:28

Juliet is my favourite - gorgeous. Anya in second place.

MiddleAgedDread · 04/03/2025 13:30

Nina or Anya

SJM1988 · 04/03/2025 13:32

Nina is quite popular were I am - there are quite a few at nursery but not school.
I love a name with a nickname so Genevieve (nickname Genie) would be my choice.

Nina - fine, I agree it’s a bit boring
Gaia - love it. Would be on my list if my husband liked it
Anya - I like it but don’t love it. I work with a lot of Anias so feels a bit dull to me
Genevieve - don’t like it or Genie (or any of the other nicknames)
Juliet - really like Juliet
Honor - I don’t like it, can’t put my finger on why, but just a name I’ve never warmed to
Frida - second to Gaia on this list for me

00ps · 04/03/2025 13:34

Gaia, by miles. Love it.

roshi42 · 04/03/2025 13:34

Love Genie!

unlikelywitch · 04/03/2025 13:41

Genevieve with Genie as a nickname is so lovely. Nina, Anya and Honor are also very nice.

I’m in the minority here but I really dislike Gaia. Don’t love Juliet or Frida, either.

Anya

Mumofgirls2017 · 04/03/2025 15:16

Nina Juliet is lovely!

Fontainebleau007 · 04/03/2025 15:16

Genevieve

Snowmanscarf · 04/03/2025 15:18

Genevieve is my favourite , plus has lots of nn options - Jen, Jenny, Genie, Viv, etc

Moreteaandchocolate · 04/03/2025 15:26

Nina is my favourite- lovely classy and simple name

Anya and Frida are second favourites - a bit unusual but familiar, simple and pretty

Genevieve is lovely but not sure on Genie spelt that way as it leads to 3 wishes type jokes! So many lovely nn options though, so she can always go by Genny / Neve / Evie / Ginny / Vivi etc if she chooses

Juliet is quite nice

Not keen on Honor - it’s a bit too virtue- heavy for my taste - a lot to live up to!

Gaia - I’d be worried about secondary school gags about “Gay-er” (with a bit of deliberate mispronunciation)

I like Anya the best. Gaia and Nina are fine, just not my favorites. I also like Juliet

CrispAppleStrudels · 04/03/2025 15:27

Frieda (spelt this way after a family member) was my choice for DD1 but it didn't work with DH's surname. If it works for you, i absolutely love it as a name.

CrispAppleStrudels · 04/03/2025 15:28

I also like Juliet but I prefer the Juliette spelling.

thornbury · 04/03/2025 15:28

Nina or Juliet

Genie is a terrible nickname
