Middle name for Reuben

I posted a while back and still struggling with settling on middle name. Our surname starts with T and is two syllabes. We've settled on Reuben for first name. Here are the ones we are deciding on for middle names :Harrison (which I love but partner not as convinced), Elijah, Rafael (or Raphael), Jacob, or Joshua (however our nephew is called Joshua but goes by a nickname) so I feel this might be strange and we would need to check with my sil, right? Any thoughts as we can't seem to agree on one!

I like Reuben Elijah or Reuben Jacob. Either would go really well with a two-syllable surname.

Moreteaandchocolate · 17/02/2025 22:10

Reuben Jacob or Reuben Joshua are my favourites :)

SkaneTos · 17/02/2025 23:05

They are all good names!

My favourite is Reuben Jacob.

loropianalover · 17/02/2025 23:07

Reuben Jacob definitely.

AmiablePedant · 18/02/2025 02:40

Reuben, of course, is an emphatically Biblical Old Testament kind of name. So Harrison would be very weird next to it. Reuben Jacob is good.

RogueFemale · 18/02/2025 02:47

Not Harrison. I like Rafael so that it's two R names. Reuben Rafael sound nice together.

I prefer Reuben Elijah, and second, Reuben Jacob.

I also like the artistic sound of Reuben Raphael.
or you could choose Raphael Rubens Tsurname.

mathanxiety · 18/02/2025 04:21

Reuben Jacob from your list.

Reuben James
Reuben Isaac
Reuben David

sleepandcoffee · 18/02/2025 04:22

Reuben means son of Jacob I believe so he names do link will together ,

Eenameenadeeka · 18/02/2025 04:27

I think it goes best with Jacob or Elijah

itsgettingweird · 18/02/2025 04:27

Reuben James immediately sprang to mind so I'm another who would go with Jacob as J names flow nicely with Reuben.

HeCharters · 18/02/2025 08:32

Not James because it's a go to middle name. Of your choices, Jacob, but it does seem a bit too OT. Harrison is too surnamey.
Watch the initials - he won't thank you if he's RAT or ROT.

Reuben Noah Tayto
Reuben Sebastian Tayto
Reuben Japheth Tayto
Reuben Lucas Tayto
Reuben Timothy Tayto
Reuben Thomas Tayto
Reuben William Tayto

From your list I liked these best:
Reuben Raphael Tayto
Reuben Harrison Tayto

Reuben is a great choice!

*Edited as I used a foreign spelling!

Mumofgirls2017 · 18/02/2025 09:36

I think Reuben Elijah or Reuben Joshua flow best.

LoudPlumDog · 18/02/2025 12:44

Reuben Elijah

Rach325 · 18/02/2025 15:48

I know we've thought about this as we there's some nice A and O names but don't think we can do that to him 😂

HeCharters · 18/02/2025 17:26

You might want to avoid U names too.

AmateurNoun · 18/02/2025 17:30

I think a single syllable middle name would work quite well if you've got Reuben and a two syllable surname.

Reuben Scott [Surname] would be my choice

spilltheteapot · 18/02/2025 17:34

I think a 1 syllable would work better given your surname is also a 2 syllable.

Reuben James was the first name that came to mind.

also:
Reuben Max
Reuben Paul
Reuben John
Reuben Rex

user2848502016 · 18/02/2025 19:56

I immediately thought Reuben James

Reuben Jacob is nice too

Gulbekian · 18/02/2025 20:08

My first thought was also Reuben James!
But Jacob sounds good too.

Rach325 · 18/02/2025 20:52

I really like Reuben James as well, but my partner doesn't want to name him after one of his mates.

LoudPlumDog · 18/02/2025 23:26

Famous song.

Reuben Cole?

toomanycats1234 · 18/02/2025 23:55

Before I read that you'd already had some names lined up, I thought right away Reuben Alexander; goes well with a two syllable name too I think. However since you had some choices I like Reuben Jacob, or Reuben Elijah, I guess it's nice to have two Hebrew names together too.

letthemeatcakes · 18/02/2025 23:58

James
