Thoughts on Flinders for a boys name?

Any thoughts on Flinders for a boys first name?

It's an old family surname I've come across but I think it would be a unique, lovely name for my son.

Please let me know if this is too 'out there'?!

This was my first thought, then Flanders Fields, neither great! Flinders….. hmmmm. Flint, Tinder, flailing around. All things that come to mind I’m afraid.

His name was William so wasn’t saddled with it as a first name. Maybe OP can stick in between first and last name like Mr Petrie’s parents did.

I think this is a lovely reference to “In Flanders Fields” by John McRae. If you, unlike me, are not a Poetry Appreciator, then let me enlighten you: this poem is a poignant and inspiring tribute to those lives lost in WW1 (World War 1).
