If you gave birth today (hypothetically) what do you think you would name your baby?

I think if I had a girl she would be Monroe and boy would be Atlas

Felix & Eliza

They would be perfect names for BG twins. They look so good written together, sort of similar without being!

Absolutely love the name Geillis (girl/Outlander).
Traditional boys names like Alexander, Andrew, George.

Apocketfilledwithposies · 24/08/2025 21:33

Clara

Not sure for a boy as I have boys and so have used the boys names I liked.

wendywoopywoo222 · 24/08/2025 21:41

Roy for a boy.

Connie for a girl.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 24/08/2025 22:08

Henry or Victor for a boy.

Felicity or Honor/Honour for a girl.

Bluelilacbella · 25/08/2025 08:28

Clara or Alba for a girl

Quentin or Felix for a boy

MsGoodenough · 26/08/2025 01:34

Stella, Mara or Amaia for a girl and Joel or Abel for a boy.

Iris2020 · 26/08/2025 09:16

Gregory or Lilia.

historyinthemaking · 26/08/2025 09:19

Boy: James
girl: Katy

but I like normal names and feel sorry for kids with stupid names (like atlas)

toadstool32 · 26/08/2025 11:22

Megan, Alyssa, Daisy
Jacob, Oliver, Theo

garlictwist · 26/08/2025 11:24

I don’t have kids and no plans to have any but I would choose Nina for a girl and Sam for a boy

rainbowstardrops · 26/08/2025 12:20

I can’t quite decide, so my imaginary twins would be ….
girls - Anais and Genevieve
boys - Xander and Xavier

Moominmoko · 16/01/2025 19:03

I'm due a baby any day. Will either be DD5 or DS1.

Girl - Either Leah or Leni. Probably Leah as all the other girls have biblical names.

Boy - Samson, Levi, Asa, Finn or Jacob. Boys names are so hard. Can't find any I love.

I’ve only just come across this thread but just wondered if you had a boy or a girl @Moominmoko

Your poor imaginary children

No need to be rude!
I think your names are incredibly boring but I wasn’t going to say so!

Far too many ‘ie’ names in general. Hate them.

That's cute x

By normal you mean boring...I feel sorry for kids with generic names

There is nothing boring about giving a child a name which doesn't stand out or have any frills. I think someone would rather be called Katy than Starlight.

Atlas is hardly that strange a name. I like traditional and old fashioned names. The only ones I'm not keen are the made up ones like Hashtag or Jumper or whatever.

AgentPidge · 26/08/2025 13:43

Sebastian
Miranda, Sacha or maybe something floral but unusual for a girl.

Dogaredabomb · 26/08/2025 13:47

Persephone or Astrid for my imaginary girl and Atticus for my imaginary boy.

Ah, now are these entirely imaginary children or ones you have to carefully consider them living in your likely milieu?

I have a friend who said 'I love Ptolemy, but we're just more Thomas type of people'.

Many will indeed find being called Katy Smith boring and would much rather be called Seraphina Smith!

Sub2Mumma · 26/08/2025 23:38

Grace for a girl 🩷
Mark for a boy 💙

Poodlelove · 27/08/2025 01:27

Naomi and David

Love those names. Traditional but not hugely popular at the moment.

If it was just me deciding i would go with Emily or Anna and Paul. I don't think dh would be keen on any of those names though. We compromised with Emily and it would have been our daughter's middle name but we ended up having 5 boys.
