We are considering this name for baby number 2. I like Lili as a nickname too, but would prefer Liliana. Wdyt?

Like it.

Celestialwish · 10/01/2025 20:14

I think it's very cute!

Whatabouthow · 10/01/2025 20:27

I like it as long as you don't have a fussy surname

emmax1980 · 10/01/2025 20:28

Nice

Gowlett · 10/01/2025 20:29

Russian YouTube kid, in my mind.

MrsTerryPratchett · 10/01/2025 20:31

As long as no one is very Sloane-posh. Otherwise it turns very Lily-AAAHHHHH-NAAAHHHHH.

I like it.

toastofthetown · 10/01/2025 20:32

I find it really boring. Just seems to fit almost every current name trend for girls into a single name.

I generally dislike frilly names. I do like Liliana but much prefer Lilian with Lily as a nickname.

I do prefer Lilian, but DH prefers Liliana!

Beautiful name

BringOnTheSunshineNow · 10/01/2025 21:54

I'd pronounce that Lilly - Ahh na.
How else would you pronounce it? Lilly anna?

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 10/01/2025 22:12

Love it

Moreteaandchocolate · 10/01/2025 22:19

I usually prefer simple names but I do like Liliana (and Lilia too).

catin8oots · 10/01/2025 22:21

I work with a Lilka which I think is beautiful

I'd pronounce it as the second option. I prefer Lily.

Personally I much prefer similar but more simple/elegant Lilia - and that way you can easily still use Lili as a diminutive (but imo Lilia is not quite as much as a mouthful to say as 4 syllable Liliana). I don’t dislike the sound of Liliana though and she’d certainly fit in with her peers too as longer “a” ending names seem quite in style at the moment (Olivia, Amelia, Isabella etc)

I love Lilia but it’s too similar to a family members name unfortunately

I much prefer Lily. Liliana is not my cup of tea, but I see no reason to object. The spelling may not be straightforward to everyone. I pronounce it Lily-ah-nuh.

Fishandchipsareyum · 11/01/2025 00:18

Nice or how about Liana?

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/01/2025 01:19

I love Lilith but it's very divisive.

user1492757084 · 11/01/2025 01:39

Liliana is not offensive in any way but too frilly to be in my favourites.

I prefer Lilou, Leah and Lily.

shoopshoopdedoo · 11/01/2025 03:00

I’m not keen as I find it too fussy, and prefer Lily. But that’s just my taste.

Bienemaias · 11/01/2025 08:07

I also find it too frilly and unnecessarily long. I prefer Lilian.
