Callie or Kallie, thoughts?

Expecting DD2 in a couple of months and would love a litmus test on the name Callie/Kallie. We went quite traditional/safe for our first daughter's name so wanted something a bit different (but not too different) for our second. DH absolutely loves Callie, but I wanted to check there aren't any weird associations before we go for it! It would also mean we have two 'ie' names, but not sure if that matters. Thank you ❤️

Really like it either way but prefer Callie. Also just like Allie actually. Cute, non-confusing, also grown up, sounds friendly.

twentysevendresses · 05/11/2024 09:16

Both lovely OP 🥰 Slightly prefer the K spelling, but honestly wouldn't mind either 🤷‍♀️

dizzydizzydizzy · 05/11/2024 09:17

Nice name. I prefer the C spelling. For some reason K is a bit too out there for me.

BootballJoy · 05/11/2024 09:43

Quite like Callie

Spedledrift · 05/11/2024 09:44

The Callie I know is short for Caroline. Both absolutely lovely names 😍

CookieMonster28 · 05/11/2024 09:48

Prefer with a C looks softer!

I'm expecting baby 2 in a couple of months (don't know gender) but if a girl will have an 'ie' name too like my DD1...and if it's a boy will do too! DH and I obviously like 'ie' names 🤣

sel2223 · 05/11/2024 09:50

I prefer Callie

BeaLola · 05/11/2024 10:02

Prefer C spelling , also like it as a NN for Caroline

MaltipooMama · 05/11/2024 10:03

Love it! Really like both spellings but just maybe slightly prefer the C

Magicisuponus · 05/11/2024 10:04

Love the name Callie - slightly unusual but at the same time very recognisable 😊

DramaAlpaca · 05/11/2024 10:05

I prefer Callie to Kallie.

FrequentlyAskedQuestion · 05/11/2024 10:08

Callie. Lovely.

Not Kallie.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 05/11/2024 10:09

I used to know a Calista who went by Callie.
I think it's a lovely name.

Fireworknight · 05/11/2024 10:09

Prefer C version. It does look like a nn to me though.

Moreteaandchocolate · 05/11/2024 10:15

I like Callie - very pretty. I personally like it best as short for Caroline.

EmmaStone · 05/11/2024 10:16

Also a potentially nickname for Calliope which I thnk is a beautiful unusual name (Greek mythology).

crumpet · 05/11/2024 10:16

I knew a Caroline/Callie- nice name

isthismylifenow · 05/11/2024 10:17

Where I live these are two completely different names.

Callie - pronounced Cal-ly is a girl name

Kallie - pronounced Cul-ly is a boys name

So if you go for Kallie, be prepared for it to be mispronounced if you were intended on the Cal-ly sound.

ScrambIed · 05/11/2024 10:18

Prefer the C spelling. Doesn't look like a full name to me, but I don't like all those short-version names unless they have a proper birth certificate name too.

PickleSarnie · 05/11/2024 10:19

Definitely with a "C" - the Kardashians have ruined K names! (and I say that as someone with a K name!)

FayCarew · 05/11/2024 10:23

Callie, but as a diminutive of Caroline, Carolina or Calista.
Kallie looks a bit made up.

favledesire · 05/11/2024 10:23

Prefer Callie

Not sure though if I would personally have it as name without a longer version but honestly it's a very nice name

user2848502016 · 05/11/2024 10:44

I prefer Callie spelling but agree with PP I would have it as a shortened version of something, probably Caroline

lobododo · 05/11/2024 10:46

I love it. DH veto’d it for us but it’s lovely, much prefer it with a C, it feels a bit downmarket with a K to me.

Manchesterbythesea · 05/11/2024 11:25

Prefer the Callie spelling
