Polly or Zara?

Just found out baby no3 is a girl. Already have two boys with traditional names. We are between two names Polly and Zara. Which do you prefer? Middle name will be Jean after family member

Really like both, but I have a soft spot for Polly. Love Jean as an honour middle name too.

Polly sounds to me like a servant´s name. I would chose Zara.

Zara - Polly sounds like too cutesy.

Polly Jean is great.

And she'll have a very cool namesake in P.J. Harvey! 🎤🎵

Not a fan of Polly at all. It sounds very ‘plain Jane’ to me, yet weirdly I don’t think quite the same about Poppy. Zara would be my choice for sure.

i like both of these. I think I'd choose Polly.

I always think of which one id rather be called and that would be Zara out of the two.

Both are lovely - not too commonly used but not too out there. Zara sounds more cool / modern to me. The only disadvantage I can think of is it might get misheard as Sara. I think I’d still choose Zara though, as I can imagine it suiting my cool teen daughter better than Polly 😊

Zara, it sounds more modern and zesty.

Polly is very plain, put the kettle on. It also makes me think polyester, or polly bags (polythene bag). There's a reason it went out of fashion.

Is it possibly a short form of Penelopy, giving Penny as an option? Still not great.
As someone else said Poppy would be a much better alternative to Polly.

100% Zara! Nothing against Polly really but I think Zara just works really well no matter what age you are whereas Polly is a bit cute and nursery rhyme ish.
