Cecilia is my favourite from your list, I also like Matilda and Stella.

Firsttimebabymummy · 16/10/2024 13:26

I only like Delilah, Cecilia and Sophia.
Would choose Cecilia.

Scutterbug · 16/10/2024 13:26

Delilah, Matilda and Sophia are my favourites from your list.

DramaAlpaca · 16/10/2024 13:37

I honestly can't help. They are all gorgeous so don't ask me to choose Smile
The only thing I'd say, is that I wouldn't personally choose Orla (beautiful though it is) unless you are Irish or live in Ireland. Most English people (for example) don't pronounce it properly.

Itonlytakesone · 16/10/2024 13:38

If I had to choose one name on your list ...
Sophia Isla gorgeous name💕

Moreteaandchocolate · 16/10/2024 14:38

Stella and Orla are my favourites- beautiful, simple, work for all ages, familiar but not overused, don’t tend to get shortened.

Sophia - beautiful but popular

Matilda - nice but as an adult I’d personally find Tilly a bit childish as a short version, and Matilda a bit frilly.

Delilah - not keen on the full name but love Della and Lilah for short!

Cecilia - I would find it a nuisance being called a 4 syllable name with no “grown up” short version for everyday use (I find Cecilia a mouthful and Cece is nice for a child but I wouldn’t like it as a teen / adult, personally)

miniaturepixieonacid · 16/10/2024 15:07

I like Matilda and Sophia. I know they're by far the most common names on your list though.

I quite like Cecilia and Stella too but I'm not keen on Orla or Delilah.

Smittenkitchen · 16/10/2024 15:09

I like Orla and Matilda.
Sophia very common currently, if that bothers you.

I like Delilah, Matilda and Cecilia. I'm not fan of the rest, but they are all lovely.

RevelryMum · 16/10/2024 15:20

Sophia Cecilia has a nice ring to it

Comedycook · 16/10/2024 15:22

Best ones imo are Sophia, Orla and Matilda

Bluevelvetsofa · 16/10/2024 15:47

Is your surname long or short? Lots of syllables in Cecilia and Cecilia Sophia is seven before you add a surname. I suppose you won’t be using both names on a daily basis. I like Sophia and Stella.

KirstenBlest · 16/10/2024 19:07

Delilah - no
Matilda - ok but I don't like Tilda, and not keen on Tilly
Cecilia - ok but makes me think of Cecil and cesspits
Orla - Oral
Sophia - nice but overused if you include the Sophias
Stella - by far the best on your list

StressedQueen · 16/10/2024 19:24

Delilah - So pretty but a bit twee
Matilda - Not really my favourite even though Tilly is sweet
Cecilia - So gorgeous
Orla - Very lovely
Sophia - My daughter's name so a bit biased but it's gorgeous, just very popular
Stella - Pretty

Honestly you have really good name taste, I really love of most of these!!! Favourites are probably Cecilia, Orla and Sophia. If you don't want popular, I wouldn't do Sophia but we don't find that many issues really.

Cecilia and Orla are both gorgeous. I think Orla is Irish so you might not choose it because of that?? Cecilia would be my choice here then.

From your list Matilda is my favourite, and also like Sophia and Delilah (although she will get people singing the Tom Jones song at her)

Orla is an irish name

ClementineSatsuma · 16/10/2024 19:52

All gorgeous, with Orla and Sophia my favourites.

We had Cecelia on our girls list and then I heard a mum call it when in the playground and it was just far too fussy/frilly for me so I realised it was a No. I love the nn CeCe though.

IsThePopeCatholic · 16/10/2024 19:53

All fine apart from Delilah.

Dippyeggss · 16/10/2024 19:55

My little girl is Cecilia but we all call her Cece, everyone always comments on what a lovely name it is.

MaybeItsBecauseImALodoner · 16/10/2024 19:56

Cecilia
Sophia
Orla

Not keen on Stella, Matilda and Delilah are sweet on little girls but I don't think they age well.

Lelophants · 16/10/2024 19:56

Ok so without reading all the other comments:

Delilah - love this
Matilda - a decent name but sooo popular
Cecilia - pretty, I like it
Orla - feels a bit ‘eh’, sort of childish of that girl from Derry girls
Sophia - no no soooo overdone
Stella - I just think of a pint, bit rough

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 16/10/2024 19:59

Delilah is my favourite. I love that name and would use it myself but unfortunately DH isn’t a fan. Lilah is a really pretty shortening as well.

KirstenBlest · 16/10/2024 20:08

nice but overused if you include the Sophias I meant Sofias.

Biscuitsneeded · 16/10/2024 20:13

I like Matilda best. It was very popular 20 years ago but I don't think so much now, and it's a great name. The rest are all nice names except for Delilah which, just personally, I find rather hipster try-hard.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/10/2024 20:21

Cecilia is lovely and so underused.
