Unisex name

Looking for unisex names for a boy/girl. I'm currently pregnant with my 4th baby with my husband ( our first together) but have 3 girls to previous relationship.

My girls names are
Aimee (19)
Laura (17)
Grace (9)

We're planning on keeping the sex of the baby a surprise until baby arrives❤️We're looking at names already seeing as I'm 15+weeks. ( scan this thursday). So could be further on😆.

2 names we like so far .
Sonny
Casey
Husband liked Teddy but I'm not a fan!

Your girls names are beautiful.
I don't like Sonny or Casey - sorry.
I love Teddy for a girl ( Theadora - I think that's the spelling, but I don't like it for a boy.

CherryValley5 · 14/10/2024 12:30

Sonny + Teddy are almost exclusively used for boys. Romy/Romilly is very much a girls name.

The only truly unisex one on your list is Casey. How about Jude?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/10/2024 12:32

You can't call a girl Sonny!

Rowan

Alex is lovely.

AutumnLeaves24 · 14/10/2024 12:36

Why do you want a unisex name?

TheCultureHusks · 14/10/2024 12:36

Sorry those aren’t unisex!

I agree with previous - Alexander/Alexandra - Alex for short.

It fits well with your older girls names, which are fairly traditional

ThisHangryPinkBalonz · 14/10/2024 12:36

Robin / Robyn
Alex

I know two girls, Frankie and Bobbie (Bobbie's brother is Sonny).
I also used to love the model Frankie Rayder. And her daughter is named Sunny.

Ari
Blake
Avery
Blair
Robin
Ray/Rae

MinistryofThyme · 14/10/2024 12:41

Sonnie isn't a girls' name either?!

Why do you need a unisex name? The baby will have a sex, you're just not finding out. Do what everyone else does and have a list of girls' and boys' names and then pick from the appropriate one when the baby arrives...

Also have a Jude in the Family. .massive baby boom in this family the past 5 years. Teddy for a female was Teddie. Casey/Casie

Not my personal taste but ...
Stevie
River
Robyn/Robin
Riley

Waterboatlass · 14/10/2024 12:42

I'd say Sonny and Romy are definitely not unisex.

Robyn/ Robin
Rowan
Ashley
Ali
Vivian (ne)
Evelyn
Francis/es

What about names that have a males and female version
Robert/a (Bobbie for short)
Alexander/a (Alex)

Waterboatlass · 14/10/2024 12:43

I like Stevie! Stev/phen for a boy but actually I like it standalone for a girl

Love Avery for a girl that is high on my list along with Maeve for girls names and instead of Blake. Blane for a boy 👦 we are in scotland too and husband picked Blane/Clyde for boys. Frankie is also in the Family. Twins... Francesca & Frankie 🤦🏻‍♀️ they are teenagers now. X

I know Vivian and Evelyn are unlikely choices these days but still! They're true unisex names and might make a comeback for boys

Jesse/Jessie?

TheCultureHusks · 14/10/2024 14:14

Not Jesse in Scotland!

OP don’t get hung up on unisex! They’re often kind of colourless names for that very reason. Or gimmicky. Sonny is pretty naff, Sonnie is even worse!

Maeve is gorgeous. For a boy, how about Brodie?
