Just that... 3rd trimester and have absolutely no idea or list so far.

Love names that are unlikely to be shortened, and slightly unusual.

Nova and Aldo
Nova and Estel

We have a few on our list now but still not one we both agree on.

Luca
Arlo
Aca
Rio
Theo
Are a selection of the boys

Vayda
Mara
Rhea
Quinn
Are the girls.

The ones we most agree on but are 100% with are Aca (DH loves it but I'm not sure on spelling and/or different pronunciations) and Quinn.

Luna for a girl.

MerryChristmasToYou · 30/09/2024 09:28

Is Aca pronounced Ayka?

Is Aca pronounced Ayka?

See, this is my problem.

Its pronounced Ace-ah or Ace-er. Both are pretty cool but they'd forever be correcting people

Hey, you mentioned in your OP that you wanted names that were slightly unusual. I'm not sure how you define that, but of your boy names, only Aca and Rio aren't top 20, so I don't think anyone would call them unusual.

Just wanted to flag, because if you don't actually mind common names, it opens things up a bit more.

Have you considered the more traditional Asa spelling? I think that sounds lovely with Nova. Or you could go Acer like the tree, which gives that matching nature feel (but is also a laptop which may be off putting)

I only know boys called Quinn, often short for Quentin.

I don't like it for a girl at all

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 30/09/2024 13:38

Scout?

MerryChristmasToYou · 30/09/2024 14:25

@OnNaturesCourse , it's spelt Asa.

StudioCreate · 30/09/2024 14:31

I like Asa. I've also ever only known Quinn as a boy's name (but also always misread it as Quim 🙈)

OnNaturesCourse · 30/09/2024 16:47

There are two spellings, either of which I am keen on.

Asa is too much like ass and Aca just looks like a brand. I do like the name though.

Acer then.
If you spell it Aca, you'll need a cedilla on the c, and it will not show in print most of the time.
Aça
