Flower names

I have fallen into flower names for my girls and have a Rose, a Daisy and a Poppy, pregnant again and feel I have to continue the theme but have kind of run out. Any suggestions? Not a fan of Iris or Hycinth.

These ones are a little more "out there" than your other daughters' names, but just in case something catches your fancy -

Calla
Dahlia/Dalia
Ianthe, Ione - both from a Greek word for violet
Lavender
Liana
Linnea
Magnolia
Lys
Vinca

Or what about another botanical like

Ash
Briar
Cherry
Fern
Laurel
Linden
Rowan
Saffron
Sage
Willow

My favourite flower name would be Lily with your girls names. Jasmine, Flora and Violet are also nice ideas.

Willow, Holly, Ivy or Hazel would also go really well too, if you don’t mind stretching the theme a bit.

Adding Hebe (rhymes with Phoebe.)

Hazel
Posy
Saffron
Lilac
Bluebell

I'd go for Saffron nn Saffy! But I like all of those. Some flower names aren't actually that pretty as words but I think these are!

Fleur?

are you sure it’s a girl? How about some botanical boys names too?

I like this thread. Flower names are so beautiful.

TwigTheWonderKid · 14/09/2024 08:25

I think Violet is perfect but also love Marigold and Zinnia.

Cloeycat · 14/09/2024 08:46

Not sure it’s a girl yet no, but I feel a track record of three makes a 4th likely!

Lily is of course an obvious one, not sure why I didn’t think of it! Enjoying hearing other suggestions though

It's always 50/50 though regardless of how many you've got. There are some lovely botanical/nature names for boys so I would start compiling a list of those too.

For girls, I love Lily and Jasmine. They both go nicely with your others. I'll add Iris, Hazel, Viola.

BettyBardMacDonald · 14/09/2024 09:29

Are Daisy and Poppy their given names or nicknames?

Cloeycat · 14/09/2024 10:17

Daisy and Poppy are their first names? Is that what you mean?
