Is Rosanna Penelope too much?

Hello,
I am pregnant with my 2nd child due in November. It is a girl and we are set on the name Rosanna! I absolutely love the middle name Penelope but I am not sure if the combination of Rosanna Penelope is too much. I am aware that it is a mouthful but do you think it’s un usable? My other daughter is Jemima Josephine. Our last name starts with a K and is two syllables (kind of sounds like Kitchen). I do also like the middle names (Charlotte and Georgina but they just don’t compare to how much I like Penelope). I would love to hear your opinions! Thank you for your help!

I love it but I’m a sucker for long names. Also biased as DD1 is Penelope (her middle name is a Rose name too!) I also love your older daughters name. Jemima was on my list too! Great choices 😁

LessOfMe99 · 08/09/2024 23:06

They are both lovely names but I don't like them together.

SaffronsMadAboutMe · 08/09/2024 23:07

No-one ever uses their middle name so it wouldn't be a problem unless she gets married, and the groom has to say it out loud.

MiddleSock · 08/09/2024 23:08

Go for it. She’ll never use her middle name and even her friends won’t know her middle name unless she’s at a job interview or court. We didn’t even say middle names getting married. Sounds great anyway!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 08/09/2024 23:59

I don’t see how it would be a mouthful? Unless you mean because Penelope is a 4 syllable name. No big deal imo and I love Rosanna btw (Penelope not my personal taste but if you love it, use it - middle names only really matter if the initials spell something bad/rude imo).

sel2223 · 09/09/2024 05:18

It's a long name but I think it goes well together and sounds very sweet with your other daughters name

Holidays78 · 09/09/2024 05:39

I think they go nicely together. No one uses middle names anyway

MistyF · 09/09/2024 05:40

I usually don't like short names anyway, but I really like Rosanna Penelope. Not every name needs to be short.

GreenTeaLikesMe · 09/09/2024 05:42

It's fine, and nobody actually uses their middle name in real life anyway.

SnapdragonToadflax · 09/09/2024 05:42

It's fine. No-one will ever say Roseanna Penelope, she'll be Roseanna Kitchen.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 09/09/2024 05:44

I think they are good together. I don’t mind long names and rosanna has multiple shortening options (rose, Rosa, Rosie, Anna, Annie, Zanna) which all sound nice with Penelope too.

urbanbuddha · 09/09/2024 05:49

I think Rosanna Charlotte flows better, but if you like Rosanna Penelope, and your DH does too, then choose that.

BatsInSpring · 09/09/2024 05:56

It's beautiful! Congratulations

RickiRaccoon · 09/09/2024 06:13

It is long but what does it matter if that's what you like? I felt like I could chuck whatever name in the middle and it didn't matter too much since nobody ever hears it. (We did go for meaningful names; we just didn't worry too much about how they sounded together, like we did for the first and last names.)

Firsttimebabymummy · 09/09/2024 07:37

I really like it!
My name is made up of 3 and 4 syllable names and it's never been a problem.

FayCarew · 09/09/2024 08:30

It's nor going to be used much and it's better than a filler middle name like Rose, Anne, Grace, May...

Kitkat1523 · 09/09/2024 08:38

they are ok on their own….together not a good match

HettyCletter · 09/09/2024 08:42

I think they go beautifully together. Go for it!

user1492757084 · 09/09/2024 09:00

Rosanna Penelope is sweet.
Both names are lovely - together they have quite an N sound which is acceptable though.

If you want a more simple version how about ..
Rosanna Polly
Rosanna Phoebe
Rosanna Ella
Rose Penelope

Mandarinaduck · 09/09/2024 12:40

Lovely, they go together perfectly, roll easily off the tongue and make a good pair with the similarly poetic Jemima Josephine.

moonshinepoursthroughmywindow · 09/09/2024 16:48

I like the combination! Also, my own first and middle names have the same number of syllables and I don't think it has ever caused me any problems. I do really like the name Charlotte, by the way, but I think I like Penelope slightly better with Rosanna.

theduchessofspork · 09/09/2024 23:47

It’s fine - I mean it doesn’t flow beautifully (Rosanna Charlotte is better), but there’s nothing wrong with it. Rosanna is a lovely name.

TurtlesDoNotPetsMake · 10/09/2024 00:06

Makes me think of rope. (First two letters of each put together) I like it.

mathanxiety · 10/09/2024 02:12

Rosanna Penelope is beautiful. I say go for it.

Rosanna Persephone would be lovely too.

mathanxiety · 10/09/2024 02:14

Rosanna Georgina is too rhymey.

Rosanna Charlotte doesn't flow well imo.
