Is Rosanna Penelope too much?

Hello,
I am pregnant with my 2nd child due in November. It is a girl and we are set on the name Rosanna! I absolutely love the middle name Penelope but I am not sure if the combination of Rosanna Penelope is too much. I am aware that it is a mouthful but do you think it’s un usable? My other daughter is Jemima Josephine. Our last name starts with a K and is two syllables (kind of sounds like Kitchen). I do also like the middle names (Charlotte and Georgina but they just don’t compare to how much I like Penelope). I would love to hear your opinions! Thank you for your help!

I think it's fine. As others have said, no one uses middle names anyway.

Personally, I don't like Penelope - It doesn't look "pretty" written down to me, and gets shortened to Penny, which I associate with "going to spend a penny" AKA, have a wee!

My friends just named her daughter Rosa Penelope which is beautiful, so I say go for Rosanna Penelope! My eldest is Matilda Clementine so I don’t think 3 + 4 syllables is too much!

I really love it

I love it! I have a Rosanna and it is still one of my absolute favourite names. Her middle name is Eve but my other daughter has a long middle name- Madeleine and it flows really well

I am a rhythm girl. So if you want to keep Rosanna and Penelope, what about Penelope Rosanne K? Either name you can choose to call her. She doesn't have to go by her first name. If not, then I would do Penelope Rosanna (smoother, not a mouth full), and call her the name you love "Rosanna". And thirdly, I would choose Rosanna Georgina K.

It's fine. No-one will ever say Roseanna Penelope, she'll be Roseanna Kitchen.

This. Middles names are just a formality

@Miriano , middle names rarely get used, and going by the middle name is a PITA.
If you think about anyone, a friend or someone famous, do you know them as Firstname Surname or as Firstname Middlename Surname?

Nobody would blink at Rebecca Elizabeth Kitchen, which is the same pattern. Use the name you love!

I think the problem with Penelope (and most other 4 syllable names) is that it needs something shortish after it. SO fine as Rosanna Penelope Kitchen but not fine as Rosanna Penelope. We got round this by adding a third name with a single syllable to balance it out. So Rosanna Penelope Jane (with or without Kitchen) just sounds more balanced.

Just call her Rosanna Penelope Rose @Corellianghost , then MN will be happy with it. Smile
