Nataliaa · 30/08/2024 23:01

Middle name Valentina- to honour family names Valerie and Tina.

Shortlist so far-

Romy Valentina
Sadie Valentina
Francesca (Frankie ) Valentina
Mila Valentina (mee- la)
Amelie Valentina

Not sure we have a particular style but these are a few of the names we have agreed on. Any suggestions welcome! We haven’t found one we both LOVE yet.

thank you

I also love Valentina as a first name...Valentina Gabrielle was a strong contender for my DD.

murasaki · 30/08/2024 23:22

I wouldn't want a first name ending in an 'a'.

From your list I like Sadie, Amelie and Romy. Otherwise Sophie, Marianne, Marie, Elise maybe?

Love Romy.

Footnoteintime · 30/08/2024 23:27

Romy is my favourite followed by Amelie. I think two names ending in A is too many As.

I only like Francesca of that lot - but Valentina is quite a nice name in its own right

miniaturepixieonacid · 31/08/2024 01:22

Oooh, they all sound fabulous - ready made stage names, she'd just have to become a ballet dancer, film star or an opera singer. Romy and Sadie are my favourites.

caringcarer · 31/08/2024 03:00

Gina Valentina.

sashh · 31/08/2024 03:48

Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman to go in to space so I would be looking for a space linked name.

Agree

She'll be Firstname Surname most of the time.

Without knowing your surname:

Romy - a bit nothingy
Sadie - great (might not be if the surname is Brady or Hardy or something)
Francesca - ok. Not keen on Frankie, but she might get Fran or Chess from her friends.
Mila - don't like it. Also Mia is too popular
Amelie - dull, sorry. Emily is nicer.

yewtreee · 31/08/2024 11:23

Francesca Valentina is lovely

YouveGotAFastCar · 31/08/2024 11:24

I wouldn’t go for a first name ending in the -a sound, with Valentina. It sounds a bit odd and makes it difficult to say.

I love Romy Valentina!

She didn’t ask for your opinion on names she already had. She asked for suggestions. BTW you sound an absolute delight of a person

KirstenBlest · 31/08/2024 12:58

@RosaStar , do you feel better for having got that off your chest?

I could suggest any first name. The middle name is lovely and most names would go with it, apart from Eve, Niamh, Maeve, Evie, Ava, Eva, Ivy etc
If the name ends in -ina, chances are she'll be Gina Surname most of the time anyway.

If the first name and surname are popular ones, the middle name is quite likely to be used a lot.

Based on OP's list: I suggest Zadie, Cassie, Elodie, Emily,

samarrange · 31/08/2024 13:02

Do you expect to be using the middle name a lot? Some parents would refer to their child as "Mila (or whatever) Valentina" in a lot of situations, or perhaps just when they are being naughty, whereas for others it just gets parked. In the former case I think you have to pay more attention to the overall feel (is "Mila Valentina" a nice little bouncy near-rhyme, or just too cute?). In the latter I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Not sure what you think I got off my chest. The rest of your message however does answer the OP’s question. 👏
