Harley - A boy or girls name?

Hi Everyone!

I am expecting my 3rd child in October and it's going to be a boy :)

We are thinking the name HARLEY.

I was just wondering if people initially think of the name as being a boy or a girls name?

I think of firstly a motorbike then a dog (neighbours dog is called Harley)

william harley was a human not a dog or a motorcylce

harley is agreat name unisex

my cat is and the dog is anni names

my bike was name fred

I’ve only ever met dogs named Harley. Usually big dogs.

I do know of one boy, no girls. The boy was from a rough family.

Ah I like it, and as an ex Nursery Nurse I usually have quite an opinion on names

It's unisex but I'd probably associate it more with a boy

The only Harley I know is Harley Quinn from Batman and Suicide Squad, so to me, it’s a girl’s name and she’s a bit of a scamp!

I wouldn’t let it being a unisex name put you off, I don’t think it’s too feminine for a boy, it suits either. Go for it if you love it.. no name is going to get 100% positive feedback on here 😂

I've only ever met male ones, and I think one of the obvious associations (bikes) makes it likely that it will always be acceptable for a boy. If anyone is using it for girls I see that as a bit quirky and "out there," not the new normal.

And for a boy! I'm not even questioning my taste seeing all the replies on this.. different horses (or dogs) different courses and all that!

I think I'd assume Harley was a girl. Probably with a brother called Maverick or Jayden and a sister called Coco or Nevaeh. And the parents breed dogs.

I think it works for a boy or a girl. I've always loved the name.

Martin Kemp's daughter is named Harley and she's in her 20's. I think it was popular in the 90's for girls. I know a male Harley aged 9.

Harley is definitely a girl's name

There is a Harlie (female) in my daughters dance class. She goes to a private school and her parents are both in medicine. Dads a surgeon.

My sisters childhood school bully was a William. He was vile and almost led her to suicide. She’s still suffering the consequences now, in her 30s.

Don’t judge kids by their names.

I went to school with a boy called Harley and know a boy with that name now. I think it is really nice.
