Harley - A boy or girls name?

Hi Everyone!

I am expecting my 3rd child in October and it's going to be a boy :)

We are thinking the name HARLEY.

I was just wondering if people initially think of the name as being a boy or a girls name?

Both! I work supporting people, so see huge number of names, spellings of names, and I am currently working with a male Harley (18) and a female Harley (30). I don't think it matters other than whether it works with a surname.

I know one, a girl but it's spelt Harleigh.

My beautiful daughter in law is Harleigh

I know two, both boys. One aged 11 and the other around three. The three year old is from a lower socioeconomic background, the 11 year old most definitely not.

Harley is definitely for a boy, I see Harlie for a girl

The oldest (45) and youngest (5) harleys i know are female. The ones i know in between are male.

the thing with unisex names is they often end up female.

I really don’t understand the dog comments, I really don’t get “dog” vibes from the name at all. If you were suggesting Rocco or Buddy I’d get it, but Harley???

Unless it’s something to do with sounding similar to Marley (Marley & Me)… I do tend to be in the minority with my opinions on MN though!
