What do you think?

Someone on my instagram has an Arrow arriving in August. She already has a baby Armour

I know I'd never use it because I'm not brave! But does anyone else secretly like these names?

I have a real soft spot for quirky names Blush

Next up baby 11 Arsehole baby 12 Angina baby 13 Areola

Reading this thread next to sleeping DP, trying really hard not to shake with laughter at this comment

Lance a lot 🤣. No but I do think it’s a) a name, b), on the same lines as an arrow in function and might not get teasing ‘Oh that Arrow, he’s not the sharpest is he’ etc. I can’t imagine a baby Arrow, a 50 year old balding Arrow with a bit of a beer belly and a job in middle management, or an old, dementing Arrow, somehow. It just isn’t working as a name for me.

RogueFemale · 20/05/2024 23:48

Fruit and nut case. All that's missing is the collection of semi-automatic rifles.

JanglingJack · 20/05/2024 23:50

I think I'd go for Beau and Arra...

Brother and sister of Catapult.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 20/05/2024 23:51

Could go all in and call the next one Armada.

Pallisers · 20/05/2024 23:52

I actually quite like the name Arrow - for a girl. I think it could work. My children Arrow, Honor and James - that works for me.

With a sibling called Armour - still less all the rest of the awful names - just no.

RogueFemale · 20/05/2024 23:53

Arsenic.

Treesaleaving · 20/05/2024 23:58

Ah yes, Karissa Collins. I would dive deeper. She is an absolute whacko who belives that God, whom she calls Yahwah or something, talks to her directly. She and her husband abuse their children physically and mentally with the eldest two being parentified. One of the babies had a water infection so bad due to being left in dirty nappies that she almost died.
This is before you examine her dangerous political agenda or that her husband stood bail for a man charged with sexual abuse and still allow he and his wife to babysit and not forgetting her reckless freebirthing.

😂

caringcarer · 21/05/2024 01:47

They are not names really anymore than Blanket is a name. I feel sorry for these kids.

arialllla · 21/05/2024 02:32

I like Arrow. Probably wouldn't use it but think it's cute. Why not? Nothings a name until someone calls someone that. Every name starts somewhere.

HolyGrapefruit · 21/05/2024 03:10

I have a Victorian ancestor named Arrow. Quite like it for that reason.
Not in conjunction with Armour though!!

Quite. It's not about the children, it's about her weird agenda.

CrikeyMajikey · 21/05/2024 04:01

No. No. No.

songaboutjam · 21/05/2024 04:04

I really like Arrow, but if I called my child that it would be as a nn for Arthur, Archie or Arianna.

I suspect our ideas of what constitutes a "normal" name will be very different in a century or two, as the "quirky" names of today become established. Many of today's normal-but-not-really-classic names (Amber, Karen, Connor, Chloe) would have been considered bizarre a few centuries ago.

GreenCereal · 21/05/2024 04:06

Do not fall down the Karissa Collins rabbithole. She is a negligent mother who cares more about being pregnant than looking after the children she has. She edits their skin to make them appear whiter. The boys all have normal spellings for their names, albeit slighty strange names, but she's burdened her girls with names like Annistan, Aynjel, and Ansyr. They do consider themselves part of the Quiverfull movement.

NoOneFellOffTheirChair · 20/05/2024 23:32

Yikes. Not a fan. Have you considered Battering-Ram. More seriously on a weapons theme, what about Lance.

ambuLance

AmytheDancingBrick · 21/05/2024 04:37

Trebuchet (nn) Trey brother to Catapult…

cuckyplunt · 21/05/2024 06:22

Bullet
Bridle
Scabbard
Trebouchet (personal favourite)

The problem with names like these are you have to be cool to carry them off. If you are a sweaty dumpling then you have no chance.

seafronty · 21/05/2024 06:38

Load of shite.

Is this the Collins family? I personally don’t like Arrow but I think they’re struggling for A names now!

ManilowBarry · 21/05/2024 06:48

Arrow sounds like something from a Benny Hill sketch where he is pretending to be Chinese and is saying 'Hello'!

It might even be misheard as Harold in some accents.

It's awful.

CatchHimDerry · 21/05/2024 07:56

Arrow and Armour not too awful but “Aynjel”? Oh dear
