I'm losing my mind trying to narrow the lists down further. Surname is Green if that helps.

Alice
Thea
Sadie
Rosie
Anna

Jude
Louis
Henry
William
Rowan

Love Alice Green and Christian Green (even though it’s not on your list)!

JimNast · 05/05/2024 21:25

Alice - 1
Thea - 5. don't like it
Sadie - 3
Rosie - - 4. Hue and colour so seems a bit silly
Anna - 2

Jude - 5
Louis - 4
William, Henry -1 (joint 1st), both go well with the surname
Rowan - 3

Shelinaa · 05/05/2024 21:26

They’re all nice, but of the girls names I’d say Sadie or Anna Green.

Alice is fine but a bit boring, Rosie Green sounds like a paint chart, Thea Green is too many ‘EE’s.

Of the boys names, I have a soft spot for William. Will Green sounds like a thoroughly nice bloke.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 05/05/2024 21:28

Rosie and Rowan don’t work with the surname Green.

JimNast · 05/05/2024 21:31

My thoughts too @MolkosTeenageAngst . Jude Green seems too abrupt. Louis Green makes me think of Hughie Green.

cherryassam · 05/05/2024 21:31

Sadie or Anna
Henry or William

Moreteaandchocolate · 05/05/2024 21:33

I love Alice - I’ve got one so I’m biased, but I really think it’s such a beautiful classic and it’s suited her beautifully all the way through to her teens.

Rosie and Anna are also two of my favourites - both classic and beautiful for all ages.

Sadie and Thea are nice too, especially if you want something a little different but still well enough known.

I love that all of your girls names aren’t too frilly, and that they don’t tend to be shortened, they’re simply lovely as they are.

From your boys names I love Louis, Henry and William - handsome classics. I’d probably pick Henry.

Jude and Rowan are a bit too unisex for my personal taste, but nothing at all wrong with that if that’s what you want and like.

Neverpostagain · 05/05/2024 21:39

Sadie is great. I don't think any of the boys names work well with Green, but would have to choose Louis and hope everyone had forgotten Hughie

Mumofgirls2017 · 05/05/2024 21:49

All absolutely gorgeous names.

by a fraction I’d pick Henry and Alice.

second would be Rowan and Sadie

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 05/05/2024 22:00

Sadie and William get my votes

Ikeameatballs · 05/05/2024 22:04

Alice or Sadie

William or Henry

Not Rosie (paint chart vibes) or Rowan (paint chart/garden centre vibes)

WiseUp · 05/05/2024 22:09

Jude and Sadie

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 06/05/2024 01:26

William Green sounds great and is my fave but I also like Henry Green. Less keen on trendier Louis but it’s okay.Jude is very trendy and not my taste. Love Rowan but not sure it works as well with your surname , as it perhaps sounds a bit descriptive ( Rowan Green might sound a bit paint colour?)

For the same reasons, definitely avoid Rosie (plus I find it a bit cutesy to boot). Not very keen on Sadie and Thea as they are quite trendy too. Adore the very classic name Anna but I think equally classic Alice Green sounds the nicest.

Alice or William Green sounds very timeless and suits all ages/backgrounds. Close second choice Henry or Anna Green. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those four- Henry is only second as it’s going through a bit of a popularity surge at the moment and Anna second as I think Alice somehow looks better with Green.

mathanxiety · 06/05/2024 01:47

I think Sadie, William, and Henry go best with the surname Green.

Theoldwoman · 06/05/2024 02:32

Alice and Louis

novocaine4thesoul · 06/05/2024 03:36

All nice names, I would agree with OP on Rosie and Rowan though. x

Santasbigredbobblehat · 06/05/2024 04:29

Anna

William

poolcrew · 06/05/2024 04:37

I love the name Sadie. I also like Anna, but coupled with Green as the surname, I immediately thought Anna Green Gables

user1492757084 · 06/05/2024 05:02

William Green 10/10
Louis Green 9/10
Henry Green 9/10
Rowan Green 7/10
Jude Green 4/10

Alice Green 10/10
Anna Green 10/10
Sadie Green 8/10
Rosie Green 6/10
Thea Green 4/10

Do you like Sally Green 10/10?

Oranitle · 06/05/2024 08:02

Louis or Henry Green are the best.
William Green is ok but Will Green quite dull. I like Jude but know several toddler Jude’s, so I think very trendy now. Rowan is a nice name but Rowan green is too much like a description.

I’m not too keen on any of the girls names, but Sadie is the best, Thea is very trendy and Rose variations are everywhere. Alice and Anna a bit dull although nice names that work with Green.

Viviennemary · 06/05/2024 08:08

Alice - I like
Thea - don't like
Sadie - not keen
Rosie - nice
Anna - nice

William - ok
Louis - quite nice
Henry - not keen
Rowan - awful for a boy
Jude - ok

OverTheCountryClub · 06/05/2024 08:14

I would choose Thea and William. But all lovely names!

Enko · 06/05/2024 10:31

Does it need to be narrowed down further? Wait until baby is here and then see what S/he looks like.

Personally I love Sadie as a name. For boys I'd go with William or Louis out of your list.

desperatedaysareover · 06/05/2024 10:39

Thea, Anna and Rowan, but for a little girl. I prefer Zadie to Sadie. Of the boys names, Henry by far.

When he or she is born you might get a very strong sense of who they are. We had a shortlist of three for our DD and let the midwives decide what they thought suited her best. They were right!

fiddleleaffig · 06/05/2024 10:46

Alice or Henry
