Titanic. Not the film, as Rose and Jack are just too common and not really Titanic.

For a girl I am considering:

Annie - Inspired by the novel called The girl who came home a novel of Titanic by Hazel Gaynor. The main character was based on two titanic passengers called Annie.

Violet - based on Violet Constance Jessop nurse on Titanic.

Eva - based upon Eva Hart British survivor.

Erin - Titanic was the ship of dreams from Belfast in Ireland. Erin is from Ireland. More loosely linked but still linked none the less.

All three inspirational woman! What are your thoughts? Favourites?

For a boy I am set on Jacob. Not sure what to pair this with...

Thomas - Thomas Andrews designer of titanic.

Edward - Captain Edward Smith.

Seems to be less notable men linked to Titanic.

Charles Joughin was a cook on the Titanic, but more famously, a survivor

First Officer was William McMaster Murdoch

I love Annie, Violet, Eva and Erin - 4 fabulous names! My favourite is probably Eva, as it feels the most classic and timeless, and works so well for all ages. Erin would be my second favourite - pretty yet strong. Annie is nice - I prefer as short for Annabel or Anna to give options when she’s older. Violet is great - just I can imagine her becoming Vi in secondary school

Jacob is fab. I would choose Jacob Thomas

Lovely names on your list!

Other ideas

Margaret or Molly - inspired by Margaret Brown, known as the "Unsinkable Molly Brown", famous survivor.

Ida - inspired by Ida Straus. Ida and Isidor Straus, a married couple who died together. From what I have read: Ida, a woman, was to be evacuated, and Isidor, a man, had the chance to get a place in the lifeboat too (because he was upper class?). But Isidor did not want to get into a lifeboat when there were still women and children who hade not been evacuated. Then Ida said that she wanted to stay in with her husband, they had been together in life, and would be together in death too.

Isidor/Isadora - inspired by Isidor Straus (see above).

Titania and Titan

Wallace Henry Hartley, the violinist who played as the Titanic sank. (His violin case recently went up for auction).

I love violet and Edward

Live Annie and Edward.

Cora- that was the little girl wasn’t it?

Erin is a bit far of a stretch in relation to the Titanic - you could choose absolutely any Irish girls name and say the same thing. Maeve is lovely if going down that route

Like the suggestions of Molly & Ida

Adore Eva but I may be biased as I have one! She’s 19 now and loves her name - contrary to the MN belief of it being too overused she very rarely comes across another. In her entire senior school (800 pupils) she was the only one. Evie and Ava seem to be more common

But they are similar. Collectively the Evie, Ava, Eva, Evelyn, Ivy, Ewa, Evi, Aoife, Niamh type names seem samey.
