Originally going to be called Jim after my granddad, but we've found out we're having a girl. Would this work?

I think Jimberly is a bit of a plain spelling OP. Have you considered Jimberleigh? Or Zjimberlii (with the z silent)?

LikeTalkingToLassie · 29/04/2024 20:49

Djimberleigh?

Seems it's a genuine name, not a made up one...It's an American name meaning ''Dusty ol' trail''!

That website lists related names as Bimberly and Kimothy 🤣🤣🤣

Djimberleigh?

This would be great is she grows up to have a Pilates or yoga business: she could call it “Limber Djimber.”

Megifer · 29/04/2024 11:45

Probably in the same way that Stanberly or Johnberly isn't OK 😂

I am drinking tea and I spluttered at that 😂

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 29/04/2024 20:52

I loved the Jimmigail suggestion.

Jimabelle is another classic in the making.

Sounds like a biscuit.

I thought it sounded like an elephant’s name, like one of Elmer’s possible friends 😂

Anyone else getting Victoria Wood vibes “Have you seen my friend? She’s called Kimberley Jimberley.”

Yes! That was honestly the first thing that came to mind.

ApiratesaysYarrr · 29/04/2024 20:59

Jimderella (gives those Disney vibes)?

Hilarious, I knew a baby through work called Jimbob. We laughed a lot. (Out of sight and hearing of the parents)

Yep, I'm pretty sure one of my fellow students went on to call his kid, Jimbob. He was living in the US then but even so...

Sarah-Jim would be nice. The 70s are coming back round again!

Lisa-Jim?

Renamed · 29/04/2024 21:10

It’s spelt Xhimbelie.

Helpmefindthiscuff · 29/04/2024 21:14

@viques @DailyEnergyCrisis
Kimberley of ‘five pints. Five pints of sherry’ fame?

I also know of a Jimothy (not his real name obviously).

Jimberly and ‘left him for a taxi driver’ puts me in mind of a Squeeze song.

MotherofGorgons · 29/04/2024 21:18

Are you a Duggar?

NeedToChangeName · 29/04/2024 21:21

Gemma

notprincehamlet · 29/04/2024 21:21

It sounds like a 1970's children's television character name
Have you seen Jimberly?
Yes she's through the round window

Rewis · 29/04/2024 21:22

Maybe Jimofer or Jimephine?

moderndilemma · 29/04/2024 21:23

@Netruscan did your grandad have a middle name that could be more easily adapted? Roberta, Wilma, Andie?
