…. Rudy!

Does it go? Would get called Roo, I think ..

It is our fave, but has been met with mixed reactions from parents, so kind of hunting for similar names …… or reassurance that Rudy IS a nice name, goes well with the other two and to go for it!

Some other names we liked:

Rowan
Remy
Ellis
Sidney
Jude
Spencer
Dexter
Rex
Cass

He’s nearly 3 days old and I just need to make a decision 😂

Any help appreciated!

Thanks x x

Not keen on Rudy sorry! Love your bigger boys’ names. From your list my favourites are Jude and Remy.

MummySam2017 · 24/04/2024 21:24

I like the above suggestion of Thomas (Tommy). That would go lovely with Louis and Jesse.

Congratulations 🥳 on your precious bundle xx

bravotango · 24/04/2024 21:46

Not keen on Rudy really, like suggestion of Tommy! What about Asher?

scottishGirl · 24/04/2024 21:48

I would go for Reuben over Rudy personally.
From your list I would go for the following over Rudy:

Rowan
Ellis

Jude
Spencer

Roomination · 24/04/2024 21:53

Congratulations OP. I’m not keen on Rudy but like Rex and Jude.

Not on your list but I like the following with Louis and Jesse
Rory
Rufus
Jasper

Marcipex · 24/04/2024 22:43

I know a Jude called Judy, so no.
I like Rowan for a girl.
I know a Cassidy but it wouldn’t suit everyone.

what about Robin? I think it goes well.

Catza · 25/04/2024 09:48

I can't shake off the image of Rudy Giuliani so it's a no from me. I would go with Ellis, personally.

Okayden · 25/04/2024 11:21

I love Rudy as a nn for Rudyard.

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 25/04/2024 11:25

I love Jude from your list.

I think Seth goes well with your names too.

i don't have a strong like or dislike for Rudy.

Mrschickenn · 25/04/2024 13:32

I’d go for Reuben over Rudy like previously suggested. I don’t personally like Rudy as a name.

Coffeeismyfriend1 · 25/04/2024 21:01

I know someone with a Rowan who calls him Roo if you really wanted to use Roo as an abbreviation.

Embodiment of evil, Trump's lawyer, all round bad egg, and easily the most well-known Rudy in the world - Rudy Giuliani
in the news today.
Yuck. www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2024/04/25/rudy-giulianis-mounting-legal-trouble-here-are-all-the-issues-trump-attorney-faces-amid-arizona-indictment/?sh=341587a02a9d

Thomas, Reuben, Robin.
Anything except Rudy!

Dmsandfloatydress · 25/04/2024 22:18

Sounds like cowboy names to me, which I love!
I'd go with jude or Rex. I also like Cassius or ill throw in Silas and Seth too!

AppleCrumbleTea · 25/04/2024 22:21

Rory is my preference

sarahsunny · 25/04/2024 22:25

I think Remy, Jude and Ellis all go much better with those names than Rudy. Rudy doesn't strike me as nice / melodic as your other name choices.

Conclax1 · 25/04/2024 22:31

I felt I had to write on this post as my first is Jesse and I really wanted to call my second Roo (or something that could be shortened to it!) We ended up going with Raife which I love and think would work well. We know people who spell it Rafe too.

WaftherAngelsthroughtheskies · 25/04/2024 22:40

All good names, but I would avoid a third two-syllable name ending in y / ee sound.
When I read the first line of the thread my first thought was Rafe/Ralph.
'Louis, Jesse and Rafe' has a good rhythm and balance to my ear....

NoThanksymm · 26/04/2024 06:26

I have a nephew Rudy. It’s super cute.

Goldenbee25 · 26/04/2024 10:11

What about Rory?

Littlelionroar1982 · 26/04/2024 16:08

Rudy is my boys name and it suits him to the ground and everyone loves his name!

Orangiople · 26/04/2024 16:11

I know 2 little Rudy’s, I think it’s a very cute name. I’ve never thought of the negative associations some have mentioned. Goes well with his siblings names too.

Goldenbee25 · 26/04/2024 10:11

What about Rory?

Rory is so much better - really lovely.
Robin and Rory both work well.
Rafferty
Rowan
Rhye is also great
Rhys
Ralph
❤️

pinkmags · 26/04/2024 16:56

or reassurance that Rudy IS a nice name

Unfortunately the Rude part of Rudy will always make some people dislike it.

And some people call farts rudeys Blush

Newbornhaze · 26/04/2024 20:21

I personally prefer Ellis, Jude or Remy over Rudy (I struggle to see an adult with this name). I like the suggestion of Rory from another poster
