It's getting close to D-day and we can't decide on a name! First baby due imminently...
Which do you prefer of these?
(And any ideas on second names to go with either of these?)
Thank you! Blush x

Zac

Felix is a well known cat food 🐈‍⬛ brand in the UK

Althenameshavegone · 23/02/2024 07:36

Felix

Sandysandwich · 23/02/2024 07:40

I really like Zac, it sounds cool and is traditional but still sounds modern and is easy to say.

There is a Felix at my sons school who is known as FeeFee and it reqlly puts me off it.

FlatWhite2 · 23/02/2024 07:54

Both are nice but I like Felix better.

Felix Zac is cute. A couple others

Milo
Otto
Rafe

Felix is great, people always mention the cat food brand on here but that really isn’t an issue in real life.

Zac/zach/zak/zachary is so overdone now.

MaloneMeadow · 23/02/2024 11:47

Love Zac!
Felix just instantly makes me think of the cat food

Pinkl · 23/02/2024 11:52

Zac/zach/zak/zachary is so overdone now.

But it IS an issue if people associate Felix with their cat's food or cats in general. That's why these forums are useful - to get honest views

PickledScrump · 23/02/2024 14:54

@Rotebeete ive known several men and boys called Felix, none have ever had issues being mistaken for or associated with cat food or cats in general. I’ve never thought oh like the cat food upon meeting one. Even if a few people did have that thought initially it would quickly be replaced by the little boy Felix so don’t think it is an issue at all.

I know sooo many Zac/Zack/Zacharys so I'd definitely go for Felix!

Clarabellawilliamson · 23/02/2024 15:08

I have a Felix, I gave him William as his middle name so that if he hates the name Felix when he is older, he can chose one of many names based on that! (So far- he likes it)

HRTea · 23/02/2024 15:12

I really wanted to call my son Felix but my husband didn't so he's called Zac - not short for anything and spelled this way.

I still kind of wished I could have called him Felix but Zac is a good name. The only frustrating thing is that it has loads of different spellings and people are forever writing Zack, Zach, Zak, Zachary etc etc

pixieeyes · 24/02/2024 13:48

Thank you all! Pretty divided opinions!

Zac

Felix sounds so soft and catlike - and Fee or Feefee aren't the nicest shortenings.

TheSnowyOwl · 24/02/2024 14:04

Zac and it will depend upon the part of the country you are in for how popular it is.

I don’t have any positive thoughts on Felix with the exception of cats being fed.

theduchessofspork · 24/02/2024 14:33

Zac if it’s short for Isaac or Zachary, otherwise Felix

Zachary Felix?

Thiswayorthatway · 24/02/2024 14:34

Felix

Cotswoldmama · 24/02/2024 14:36

Felix

goldielockss · 24/02/2024 14:40

Zac (Zachary) - my daughter would have been called this if she had been a boy!

EverlastingStar · 24/02/2024 14:47

I like them both but prefer Zac

amz4 · 24/02/2024 14:49

Felix

jannier · 24/02/2024 15:12

He's going to be followed by kids meowing if you go for Felix.
