Which one for a baby boy? We are looking for unusual boy names beginning with M. James will remain as MN. Siblings are brother Ezra John & sister Winter Victoria. Thanks :)

Milan

Toottooot · 10/01/2024 15:28

I’d go for Malcolm if you’re looking for unusual - that 2 names are a lot mair common.

PamelaParis · 10/01/2024 15:30

They're both awful in different ways.
How about Macsen? It's Welsh.

Onelife2024 · 10/01/2024 15:31

I prefer Maddox from these two, but like Myles, Milo or Maxwell better

Needmorelego · 10/01/2024 15:36

Of those 2 I prefer Maddox. Unless you have some kind of special link with Milan (he was conceived there or great gran was from there or that's where your honeymoon was etc) it's not a great name.
Personally I'm not a fan of Maddox but if you like it then it's the better of the two.

MaggieNextDoor · 10/01/2024 15:41

Maddox is the name of one of Angelina Jolie's sons and for that reason alone, I wouldn't choose it. Milan sounds too much like Alan, which is a very dull name. Ezra and Winter are lovely names for your other children. Any reason why the name has to begin with M?

Jeelypieces20storeys · 10/01/2024 15:43

Maddox. Milan sounds feminine to me.

Though would prefer Miller, Michael or Myles to either of them.

MaryActsLikeSheDontCare · 10/01/2024 15:45

Neither.

James is lovely.

Doublebiscuit77 · 10/01/2024 16:03

Not a fan of either. I'd choose Milan if I had to. Maybe Malcolm, Maurice, Magnus, Montgomery (Monty), Moses, Matteo, Marco?

11NigelTufnel · 10/01/2024 17:07

Are you pronouncing Milan like the city in Italy, Mih-lan? I assumed you meant the Eastern European name pronounced more Mee-lan. Either way, not a fan of Maddox, as it starts off with mad.

DuchessOfSausage · 10/01/2024 19:31

Not keen on either of them.
Don't call the baby Macsen - it seems a bit naff unless you're Welsh, just use Max.

Floopani · 10/01/2024 19:35

I prefer Maddox of the two, but echo PPs suggestion of Myles. It goes really well with your other children's names.

Littlegoth · 10/01/2024 19:36

James is nice.

megletthesecond · 10/01/2024 19:37

Neither. There must be a nice unusual boys name out there.
Ezra and Winter are nice names, Milan and Maddox don't go with them.

Comedycook · 10/01/2024 19:37

Maddox

I'd assume Milan was a girls name by the way

DuchessOfSausage · 10/01/2024 19:37

James is a go to middle name, a bit like Rose for a girl

SallyWD · 10/01/2024 19:39

I really dislike both! Sorry! But I love James. A classic and timeless name.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 10/01/2024 19:40

Both terrible.

Michael? Marcus?

Milo
Morgan

Matthew

theduchessofspork · 10/01/2024 19:41

Matthias?

I don’t like either but Milan is v odd so I guess Maddox of the two

Mojodojocasahaus · 10/01/2024 19:48

You do know a kid called Maddox will get called Mad and a Milan will get called Milly 🙈

whatausername · 11/01/2024 03:03

Maddox screams Angelina Jolie copycat.
Milan - first thought was the war criminals, second thought was dirty weekend.

Both are fine otherwise.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 11/01/2024 03:50

James

LauderSyme · 11/01/2024 04:04

Not keen on either, sorry. Milan is a wishy washy sound that people will be unsure how to pronounce, while Maddox is too muscular! Neither go with their siblings' names.

What about Madsen?

octoberfarm · 11/01/2024 04:06

Of the two, Maddox. Have you considered Mason, or as PP suggested Matteo or Magnus?

peaceinourtime · 11/01/2024 12:12

Of the two Maddox. I wouldn’t worry about the Angelina Jolie comparisons as that was years ago.
