Shiloh Dove Louise?

I recently made a post for middle names to go with Shiloh. I already have two children who both have two middle names so I’m now thinking I should maybe do the same for this baby. My middle name is Louise so I thought it might be a nice touch to share it with her but I also like Dove. I love what Dove symbolises and her being our last baby I think it’s special.

Shiloh Dove Louise? Does it work? Second option is possibly Shiloh Joy Louise but not sure.

I much prefer Joy as the middle name.

Nineteendays · 31/12/2023 09:23

I also much prefer joy to Dove

HardcoreLadyType · 31/12/2023 09:24

That is a lovely name.

SnowsFalling · 31/12/2023 09:26

It partially depends on your surname, but I prefer Shiloh Louise Joy.

Houseplantmad · 31/12/2023 09:28

Joy, definitely.

Our surname is a very common 3 syllable name.

Shiloh Dove Louise flows well. I think Dove may be a bit alternative for general MN taste but the flow of the name is better than Shiloh Joy Louise, for me.
The extra syllable in Joy, sort of, makes it more of a mouthful.
I wouldn't change the order- if you have Shiloh followed by Louise you have a 'lo' followed by a 'lou' which is harder to say.

allthingsbeachinspired · 31/12/2023 09:54

I think Shiloh Louise Dove. As Dove is different and Shiloh is also quite unusual I'd put the more common middle name first.

FayCarew · 31/12/2023 09:55

Dove and Joy are both awful

KinS24 · 31/12/2023 09:56

Joy is better. What’s the point in two middle names? Just takes longer to fill in forms all your life.

KateyCuckoo · 31/12/2023 09:57

Poor child.

My DD has 2 middle names to reflect her cultural heritage.

She can use or drop them if she wants.

Also depending on the person's last name e.g. if it is very common, using two middle names makes it more unlikely you are mixed up with someone else.

DasherAndDancerAndPrancerAndVixen · 31/12/2023 10:02

Do your other children have slightly 'out there' names? I would stick with just Louise as a middle name. Or Joy. Having two unusual names followed by a completely standard very common 70s/80s/90s name does jar a bit.

How about (palm) Olive?
Pears is also a soap...

How slowly do you write?! 😂

I just read Dove as Dave. I'd go for Joy.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 31/12/2023 10:06

It’s a lovely name OP, really special.

Mischance · 31/12/2023 10:06

The trouble with dove is that it makes me think of soap .....

notanothernana · 31/12/2023 10:11

Louise doesn't go with the other two names. Louise is very 60s/70s.

hometimesanta · 31/12/2023 10:16

I have always thought middle names don't matter as they are never rarely used anyway, this was confirmed for me just the other day when I saw a thread in here where someone was actually annoyed their their in-laws has used their DC middle name.

Use whatever you like.

FayCarew · 31/12/2023 11:09

Joy and Louise seem like filler middle names.

Passingthethyme · 31/12/2023 11:11

I like Dove, Joy is so meh and boring

BeatricetheBeautious · 31/12/2023 11:13

I prefer Shiloh Dove Surname. I wouldn't put Louise with those names

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 31/12/2023 11:16

The problem with the other Shiloh is that her name (Shiloh Pitt) sounds like a spoonerism for Pile of Shit. So with Shiloh Dove I would just think Shove. But hopefully that's just me. If you don't agree, go with what you love. They are all lovely names.
