I really like Mairead, however no Irish roots so not sure.
Mary- I think it's very elegant and timeless.
Kaitlyn- I know it would get misspelled though.
Carys.
Brontë - again misspelling/mispronunciation risks.

Boys- find this a lot more difficult.
Francis
Joshua
Alistair
Tobias

Very open to other suggestions!

Huh, what a weird thread to find and bump after 5 months!

I adore classic and elegant Mary - so timeless until it became underused in the last decade or two. I think John or maybe Robert would be the same style for boys. Similar style to Mary (classic but underused now) for girls might be Cecily, Jane, Caroline, maybe Marianne.

Less keen on your other girls picks - well I do have a secret soft spot for Brontë as I love the Authors but I worry it might not age well or get seen as downmarket

Dont love or hate any of the boys picks - like Alistair and Tobias the most (although Francis would make a very classic sibset with Mary ). Nathaniel might be another underused classic for girls?
