Advice on the name Seren

Hello,
I am pregnant with a baby girl, i really want to call her Seren- although sadly my parents don't like the name... what are your thoughts? is it a girly pretty name?

The definition of Seren in Welsh, means star and i love the meaning. I was thinking of making her name sort of fairylike? (as the name means star)

does anybody have any ideas?

Love the name Seren but already had 4 kids and wanted no more, so that's what we named the dog (she is a Welsh girl) hope this doesn't put you off! Our kids know of only a couple of 'Serens' from their schools. So it's not common but not too rare either.

I like it. It’s quite popular if that bothers you?

Serena or Stella might be others. Or Ffion?

I love the name and know a couple of Seren Haf’s (summer star).

Seren is lovely OP. Bear in mind some people will mispronounce it as Serrun. Even in some parts of Wales people do the thing of saying names ending with An En or On as 'un'.

She's your baby and you get to name her. Your parents have had their turn, now it's yours.

@LovelyBranches , Haf is a filler middle name, as is Mai. They're a bit twee and predictable like 'Lily Rose' and 'Ellie May' .

Seren is a lovely name. Call her what you want, you are the Mum. They'll get over it, they are grandparents, not parents.

Seren is beautiful. It was on our list for our Christmas baby but we named her Winter instead. Also, please don’t worry about people’s opinions, not everyone likes every name and it’s your baby, not theirs xx

It’s still very pretty. My DD has a middle name which is longer than her first name but I wouldn’t rule out a short middle name like Haf.

Name her what you like. DD is called P i p e r. My mum didn’t like it which made me want to name her it even more 😜
