Slightly piggy backing off another thread in this topic but just really curious about this.

Obviously we've all heard of some very unusual suggestions on this site and we can all think of a celeb that's opted for something very unique but in your day to day life what would you say is most unusual you've come across?

For me it'd probably be Maverick for a boy and Lavender-Lily for a girl.

Boppi

Orion, I really like it but sadly his mum said he’s always correcting… ie, ‘no, not Ryan, Orion!’

I've also met a Leilani, a Loveday, and a Dimple. The Dimple I met was Indian, I think.

A couple I know had 4 kids and made up names for them all, but they all sound nice.

I've come across female Shin (Chinese and I think it's not unusual), a King (Nigerian I think), a Tiara, a Zebediah-Blue which is quite a mouthful, a Silverlee, a female River, a Bluebell, a Tower. Also a Saffron but not with the last name Lamb! And a Neroli.

Ooh, I like it, too!

La-a (pronounced "Ladasha")

I taught a girl called Song once.
I thought that was rather lovely.

Also met a child at soft called Polaris about 12 years ago, which I thought was an interesting choice.

Candida. She thankfully shortened it to Candi...makes me itchy just thinking about it!

I know a Candida too. I think it's a nice name!

KnickerlessParsons · 21/11/2023 21:51

I know a Zoltan! He's Hungarian, and apparently it's quite a common name there. He's a fabulous guy and really carries it off.

So do I. Not sure where he's from but he's Eastern European.

StoatofDisarray · 21/11/2023 21:51

IDoughnutKnow · 21/11/2023 21:28

They're not that unusual, though.

Depends how you define unusual. I don't know any. That would make it unusual. They're just also perfectly acceptable names.
