Slightly piggy backing off another thread in this topic but just really curious about this.

Obviously we've all heard of some very unusual suggestions on this site and we can all think of a celeb that's opted for something very unique but in your day to day life what would you say is most unusual you've come across?

For me it'd probably be Maverick for a boy and Lavender-Lily for a girl.

@SoupDragon still easy to avoid any hurt by just not visiting the thread 🤷🏼‍♀️ It's an interesting topic to some and it's ridiculous to censor ourselves from having an interesting thread open to protect the feelings of people who are not being forced to be here.

Oh good. A "let's laugh at people's names" thread. Hurrah!

Zoltan, with an equally impressive surname. I didn’t take it as an excuse to laugh, I thought it was a magnificent name.

unless this thread means most common or likely to be preceded by „get here“ in a supermarket.

Ocean

I asked a woman if "Click" was a pet name for her son, and she looked at me oddly and said that, no, that was his whole first name. A little girl in my home town (parents' family friends) is called Pocahontas.

Lavender Lake
Rainy which is fine but not with the surname Day 🤣

Ibizabar · 21/11/2023 19:38

Some of these names are not even weird though. Names like Bliss, Precious, True are very common in some communities.

I know a Zoltan! He's Hungarian, and apparently it's quite a common name there. He's a fabulous guy and really carries it off.

Bliss, Lil Star and True. Siblings.

I went to school with a bliss. She was in a younger year and HORRID!

Angrymum22 · 21/11/2023 19:46

Miracle, I’m not sure whether she was one.
A Melaena, for anyone who has medical training Melaena Stools was always a joke/comic name ( think Ivor Biggun type joke).
It is a medical term for dark sticky/bloody poo.
And finally colleague once saw a patient called Clamidia.
You get to see so many odd names as a HCP.
