Slightly piggy backing off another thread in this topic but just really curious about this.

Obviously we've all heard of some very unusual suggestions on this site and we can all think of a celeb that's opted for something very unique but in your day to day life what would you say is most unusual you've come across?

For me it'd probably be Maverick for a boy and Lavender-Lily for a girl.

I am not ‘triggered’ or upset.

I am offering my opinion that starting a thread to highlight name choices as ‘weird’ is sniggery, and unpleasant and designed to ridicule people.

You consider yourself entitled to do this. I am as entitled to view this as unpleasant behaviour and say so.

Good thing that anyone who's name choice may get ridiculed wouldn't see it anyway since grown adults with an average or above intellect would know not to click on something that very obviously might upset them.

Handy how that works eh?

Thor (what if he grows up a weed?) or has a lisp?
Lakota
Siobhan - perfectly normal Irish name but her parents insisted it be pronounced as it was spelt so 'Cee O Barn'

Yep, I know a Sinead said Sin-need. I genuinely thought the girl who introduced had got it wrong and Sinead was rolling with it to protect feelings. But that was not the case.

So you think it is OK to ridicule people as long as it is behind their back?

When I was a teenager we had a (female) neighbour who gloried in the name of Merlin Wankiri.

It's okay to discuss unusual names on a public forum that nobody is being forced to participate in, yes.

If you care about what strangers on the Internet think of your name or a name you like then you are a free person who can choose to not engage with threads like these.

Paris Hilton has just named her child London.

I also don't get parents who go for Donald Donaldson or Robert Robertson. Have known one of each.

I have recently come across someone who named their daughter, 'Harleymoon'.
