Slightly piggy backing off another thread in this topic but just really curious about this.

Obviously we've all heard of some very unusual suggestions on this site and we can all think of a celeb that's opted for something very unique but in your day to day life what would you say is most unusual you've come across?

For me it'd probably be Maverick for a boy and Lavender-Lily for a girl.

I met an Iona Hill 😂.

GigaHearts · 22/11/2023 08:59

Precious, knowledge, honour. A family beside us at the beach one year.

DeedIDo · 22/11/2023 09:03

I have known a Labia, and a Maverick.

Also a little boy called Flint.

The mention of drag queen names reminded me that there's a drag queen called Jujubee whose real first name is Airline.

Okay, it is from a German "Fly on the wall" TV show of an indeterminate age but this family has 14 kids

Ulrike
Barbara
Chris-Frank
Maja
Thore
Samantha
Rambo Ramon Rainer
Angel
Dwight
Xena
Gandolf Merlin
Odin Jens Junior
Dragon Dinoso Degen
Hajo Donovan Benvenuto

The first two have slightly old fashioned names and some have normal-ish names, but after Samantha they went completely bonkers

Unfortunately, for Chris-Frank the family name is also Franck.

Years ago I met someone with the surname Cunt. He's not British.

Wenchelda · 22/11/2023 11:48

I know of brothers who both have middle names named after Transformers ...
Optimus and Rodimus

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 22/11/2023 13:02

Due to appalling education standards though, I have met people who think that names like Persephone and Hermione are 'made up' names. An incredible number think that J K Rowling invented Hermione...

I love some of the Greek Myth names (but have not been sufficiently bold as to use them for any of my children).

I went to school with a Sorrel, I wonder if she’s the one mentioned upthread.. (She would be around 40 now).

I used to teach a moonbeam and rainbow (they were siblings) I do wonder if they changed their adults!

Wurlitzer. According to the father "he was conceived up against one". Lovely.

My late father went to school with a girl called Hazel Nutt.

There was a chap on a TV quiz show just recently who told the host that he had two children, a boy and a girl called Evan and Elle. I hope he was joking.

Sorrel was a character in a Noel Coward play and became popular name for a while in the 1920s I believe!

MIL (in her 80's) went to school with a girl named Elgar! Odd enough now but in the 1950s - poor lass.

Anakin, Obi, Isambard (he's known as Izzy).
Siblings - Neo & Trinity
I also know a baby called Kevin

WearyLady · 23/11/2023 08:20

An unwanted child whose mother named WhyMe. Very sad. He later changed it to Joel.

My children also went to nursery with siblings called Box and Scooter.

1stWorldProblems · 23/11/2023 08:24

Thor (what if he grows up a weed?) or has a lisp?
Lakota
Siobhan - perfectly normal Irish name but her parents insisted it be pronounced as it was spelt so 'Cee O Barn'

Nezuko · 23/11/2023 08:44

A iranian lady I know named her daughter Uranus, I wish I was joking (apparently her name is pronounced as oo-ra-noos in farsi, still can't help but think about how much she'll probably get taunted at school for it)

I know an adult Thor, really nice guy, he was on a episode of The Chase.

As for Cee O Bahn - the Irish part of me is cringing.

I know a 8 year old girl called Tiger
