Brother for Saskia: Max or Felix?

I’m really torn between Max and Felix. DP prefers Max and I’m leaning towards Felix but keep changing my mind! Baby is due any day now so really need to make a decision.

What would you go for?

Absolutely love all these names. If I’d had a daughter she would have been Saskia. Felix would be number 1 for the wee boy. Wishing you all the best! X

What is "Max" short for?

I personally go with Felix as it isn't a diminutive of any name.

the phrase “to the max” would put me off as well.

I hate Felix, reminds me of a cat. So Max for me.

The ks and x might be a bit of a tongue-twister. You might find people saying 'Saxia and Mask/Felisk'

@Reugny It would just be Max as none of the longer variations really go with the surname. But it does bother me a bit that it is such a short name and that it might be presumed to be a nickname.

I think Felix sounds better with Saskia.

I far prefer Max, but not in combination with Saskia - too similar and, as I pp said, you'll be calling them Sax and Maskia or any combination thereof. I really don't like Felix, it's a creepy sounding name to me.

Wait until baby arrives - you can decide then.

We had decided on a name then were unsure again. We waited until our daughter was born then decided which we preferred.

I had a cat called Saskia so paired with Felix 😆 Lovely names though and Max was always on my list

Just wait until you meet him, then you’ll know which one he is.

we thought we had a name chosen, then he was born and that name just wasn’t right for him.

With Max you can sing the Max Power song from the Simpsons.

With Felix there is a lot of cute cat merchandise you can dress them in, especially for Halloween if born before.

Both names lovely, but Felix is more unusual than Max. Quite a few Max’s in school right now, only know one Felix.

What great names! I’d choose Max because I’d prefer to be called Max. Not that Felix isn’t a fantastic name but the cat associations mean I wouldn’t like to be named it myself.
