I had a school story about a girl named Candida. Princess Candida , I think.

Minty where I come from means filthy as in dirt. I reckon that's hyper local though.

Short for Araminta - I know one!

Soubriquet · 30/09/2023 14:25

I have a friend who has a son called Spike. That’s the most unusual I know irl

cushioncovers · 30/09/2023 14:28

Bean Bag and Amazing. The Amazing was funny in that her mother shared due to looks she got ‘I named her myself’.

Loopylalalou · 01/10/2023 21:47

Bovril and Godknows, both Ghanaians. You did say unique.

lifeturnsonadime · 01/10/2023 21:50

I know teens called Carter and Clementine, not related.

The most unique name I've ever known (only ever come across one ever) was a Haidie who I went to university with. I thought it was very beautiful although people thought her name was Heidi.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 01/10/2023 22:10

Siblings Blue and Indigo, except Blue was the girl and Indigo the boy. I don’t know why but I’d have had them the other way round.
Ronnie for a girl (which is very cute).
Pebbles.
And not an unusual first name, but I went to primary school with Holly Wood.

lifeturnsonadime · 01/10/2023 22:20

Ronnie for a girl (which is very cute).

One of my best friends at university was a female Ronnie, short for Veronika!

Snugglemonkey · 01/10/2023 23:47

I worked with a Blaise, which was unusual to me. He was French though, and apparently it is quite common there.

When I was having my dc, I met a tiny Roy. I thought that was quite unusual nowadays.

A girl who got pregnant at my school when we were 16, named her daughter Lolita.

JamSandle · 01/10/2023 23:55

A little girl called Yellow.

Patchesofdrizzle · 02/10/2023 00:09

Inigo (boy)

DinnaeFashYersel · 02/10/2023 00:43

Unique means one of kind. None of these are unique.

Some aren't even that uncommon

SleepingStandingUp · 02/10/2023 00:44

randomrandom · 29/09/2023 22:01

Sibset Alex, Axel, Lexa, Xael (no I promise I’m not lying )

Oh good god, poor kids. I bet at least one of their parents sees themselves as some sort of 'influencer'

Maybe they read about this Belgium family...
"Gwenny Blanckaert and Marino Vaneeno's oldest child, who is 13, is called Alex. They also have Axel, 12, Xela, 11, Lexa, 10, Xael, 9, Xeal, 8, Exla , 5, Leax , 4, Xale , 2, Elax, 1, and six-month-old Alxe. They are also now planning their 12th baby, reported Birmingham Live"

Aquamarine1029 · 02/10/2023 01:00

NexusExplorer · 02/10/2023 08:19

Light Yagami is the name of a character from my favorite anime, Death Note. If my partner agrees, I'd like to name my son Light.

Crunchymum · 04/10/2023 13:13

Pumpkin and Xyla (both came up on those little screen things they have at the GP's - not on the same visit)

Also knew a Merit [female] and know a female Simon (not a typo for Simone)
