Because I don't have a clue.

Here's the criteria:

  • surname is one syllable (spp?) so need something a bit longer to go is possible 3 syllables
  • DD1 is Abbie DD2 is Talia so ideally don't want A or T names
  • don't want something really common so top 10 is out want something a bit unusual but not wacky and is still pretty and girly

Oh and I'm very fussy and DP and I can't agree on anything.

sweetkitty · 09/03/2008 18:56

No still not chosen

Maya is too close to my Mums name and as I don't like her will not be calling my DD after her, sorry is a lovely name though and know quite a few already.

Bethany is still the only maybe

Celia, but beware of friends who say that a b & c sounds really nice. Those children will be by themselves one day.

I found it really irritating when people said oh Charles & Camilla sound really nice, when I was trying to name 'one' child. Why on earth people worry about how

Darth Vader & Chardonnay' sound together is totally & utterly over my head.

sweetkitty · 09/03/2008 19:47

Agree scattybird wouldn't chose a name to "go" with another but don't want a name too close to other DDs name that would be too confusing for them.

Deanna
Eliza

devonsmummy · 09/03/2008 19:56

Cercie? (sir-sea) I've only ever heard of one

snooks · 09/03/2008 20:54

Viola
Sylvia (or Sylvie)
Ursula
Stella
Lois

All of the above on our list tho' I think we are going for Pearl (we've got a long surname instead).

RustyBear · 09/03/2008 21:00

We have a 4-letter one-syllable surname beginning with R too, and I thought (and still think) Isabella sounded really nice with it, but DH didn't agree, so DD has a 2 syllable name, which I think sounds OK.

sweetkitty · 10/03/2008 18:29

Suggested Isabella DP totally disliked

so far we have

Bethany
Elodie (me)
Kelsey (me)

dizzydixies · 10/03/2008 18:38

Elodie has grown on me and how dare dh not like the name of my dd1?!?

sweetkitty · 10/03/2008 18:41

To be fair he did say it was too exotic to go with his surname (it's always his blasted surname thats the problem).

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 10/03/2008 18:41

I bet you are so hoping you have a boy girls names are SO hard when you already have two.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 10/03/2008 18:45

oh I don't mind either as dh and I do not agree on ANY sodding names and it has been a bone of contention both times!!!

we have what I would consider very much a first name as a surname which I hate too

sweetkitty · 10/03/2008 18:51

For boys I really liked one name DP really liked another so it would have been a fight too.

We cannot agree either.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 10/03/2008 19:24

names in hat time girls!!

sweetkitty · 10/03/2008 19:37

Either that or we will just go with DD1's suggestion Rosie which really doesn't go with our surname.
