Because I don't have a clue.

Here's the criteria:

  • surname is one syllable (spp?) so need something a bit longer to go is possible 3 syllables
  • DD1 is Abbie DD2 is Talia so ideally don't want A or T names
  • don't want something really common so top 10 is out want something a bit unusual but not wacky and is still pretty and girly

Oh and I'm very fussy and DP and I can't agree on anything.

Amelie was one we both liked but Amelie/Abbie

Some good suggestions on here and some erm unusual names that I cannot imagine in a playground in Scotland somehow.

My head hurts from looking at names now.

sweetkitty - am sorry have been no use as chose not to sink in re no names beginning with A or T and you wanted 3 syllables

to be honest I don't think Amelie and Abbie are too similar -would just depend on your opinion re receiving post etc!!

where abouts in scotland are you?

sweetkitty · 05/03/2008 15:42

Between Glasgow and Edinburgh dizzy do you know what you are having yet? (well apart from a baby)

A boys name would have been easier well DP likes one I like another, at least we had 2 to fight over.

sweetkitty - sorry, got a bit carried away with school names I hasten to add that I personally wouldn;t dream of calling my DCs most of those names, not least because I loathed my school and most of my class mates.

dizzydixies · 05/03/2008 15:44

AdamAnt - your names were great don't worry, she will probably be surrounded by , Chelseas, Taylors, Teagens, Demi-Leighs, Brooke-Mayas etc so maybe a Hermonie or a Florence would really stand out although maybe not a bad thing.

Dizzy - I'm glad I found out the sex DD1 is delighted and has already called her Rosie (no way doesn't go at all).

It's just SO difficult naming a baby theres loads of lovely names but do I love one above them all I want to call my daughter and of course DP has to like it as well.

So you need a name you both like, goes with your surname, sounds OK with your accent, is not a friends or family name, not too similar to your other DCs names
