Birdiboo · 28/08/2023 08:02

I’ve just found out that I’m having a baby girl and she will have a big sister called Molly.

What name do you like the most from the final 4 names we like? Please try not to be too harsh with your comments if you don’t like something on the list 😬

Emma
Sienna
Carrie
Layla

sienna

Carrie then Sienna are my favourites. The only one I’m not as keen on is Layla and it’s because so many girls are being called the Layla/Lilah/Lailas just now and the Myla/Mila etc, they all just blend in together for me and I forget what name people have called them at times because they’re all so alike

Emma - nice but prefer Emily.
Sienna - no. Sounds like a laxative.
Carrie - I love the song Carrie Anne. Anne as a middle name really goes well with it.
Layla - ok just ok.

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/08/2023 08:11

Emma

Then quite a bit lower Carrie

Leyland
Sienna

TenThousandSpoons · 28/08/2023 08:14

Emma
but all are nice.
Maybe not Layla with Molly because of all the L sounds.

Anoushkaka · 28/08/2023 08:15

Layla, it's one of my favourite girls names.

Emma - boring

Sienna - common

Carrie - meh

SuchGreatFun · 28/08/2023 08:17

Carrie
Emma

Emma is lovely and works well with Molly

Phos · 28/08/2023 08:19

My own favourites are Layla and Sienna but I feel like Emma goes best with Molly.

Hazelnut9 · 28/08/2023 08:20

All lovely names but my order of preference:

Sienna
Emma
Layla
Carrie

strawberry2017 · 28/08/2023 08:48

Love Carrie, Sienna and Emma.
Hate Layla with a passion.

Seasidemumma77 · 28/08/2023 08:48

Emma

Lily0719 · 28/08/2023 08:49

Layla

DinnaeFashYersel · 28/08/2023 08:50

Love Emma. A classic that has stood the test of time.

I don't like the others.

Beautifulsunflowers · 28/08/2023 08:51

Emma or Carrie

TiredMummma · 28/08/2023 09:18

The only one which seems to work with Molly is Emma?

Sienna is a lovely name but 'Molly & Sienna' sounds like a bit of a mouthful

'Molly & Layla' sounds ok

'Molly & Carrie' sounds like a 90's tv show imo which you may or may not like. Also the just like that show has just released so people will assume you had called her after SATC

FoodFann · 28/08/2023 09:22

Emma or Sienna are both lovely.

Carrie is a NN imo. And Layla has a certain down-market feel (sorry!).

Personally, I don’t think the name has to ‘go with’ Molly, they’re going to have separate lives, even in childhood they’ll be in different classes, have different friends etc. But, in any case, all these names sound fine with Molly.

FayCarew · 28/08/2023 09:37

Emma - beautiful, classic
Sienna - faddy
Carrie - nice if short for Caroline
Layla - don't like it. Too many similar names like Lily, Lila etc around

BeaLola · 28/08/2023 09:44

Emma as it's classic and goes well with Molly

BoleynMemories13 · 28/08/2023 10:04

100% Emma, a timeless classic which sounds lovely with Molly.

The other 3 aren't to my taste.

Birdiboo · 28/08/2023 12:33

Thanks for all the replies! It seems that Emma is the majority favourite. I do think it’s my favourite too I think I just worry sometimes that it’s a little boring but I love the simplicity and every Emma I have ever known has been lovely, as well as Emma Thompson, Emma Watson, Emma Stone etc.

Would it be weird to to have Sienna as a middle name?

Emma Sienna

My daughter really loves Sienna! So do I.

We also all like Margot which I forgot to put in my first post
