Sibling for Maybelle and Sailor

We are due our 3rd baby and we are not sure on the sex and will most likely be waiting until the birth. We currently have a Maybelle and Sailor and like unusual names. For a girl we are looking at a similar concept of 2 names together but unfortunately most of them have "belle" or "bella" in them which we can obviously not have. Annalisa is a current favourite but we think it's really quite fussy and think 4 syllables might seem too much but that's a bit weird considering names like Isabella do not feel the same so maybe it is okay and we are overthinking that? We also love Roseanne! For a boy we have a few more ideas and like Archer and Sawyer, think we can't really have Sailor and Sawyer. I'm not a fan of them sharing initials. Other boy names on the list are Mason, Fletcher and Carter. Thank you

I wouldn't worry about having names that go with siblings. No one ever meets me and wonders if my name goes with my sibling's name.

I think it's just what we like really!

I love the name Annalisa and don't think it's too fussy at all. I wouldn't go for another name ending in 'er' or 'or' like Sawyer, Archer, Carter etc, as it's too like Sailor in my opinion. I also think Mason is too similar to Maybelle. You seem to like trendy, american sounding names so maybe Blake for a boy?

Eddyraisins · 27/08/2023 14:51

Annalisa is pretty. Not sure about surnames as first names for boys.

Out of interest does Maybelle ever get called Mabel? I like both name.

Pollyanna
Marianne
Roseanne

How about Roseanna?
Rosalie?

Or for boys Eddison or Rafferty?

DameEtna · 27/08/2023 14:54

I much prefer Annalise to Annalisa- gorgeous name!

You think Annalisa is too fussy but Maybelle was fine?

Annemarie, Elizabeth, Rosemary?

SuperiorM · 27/08/2023 14:58

Allegra, Adrienne

Satchel, Florant

LaRevolution · 27/08/2023 14:59

Is Maybelle pronounced like Mabel, or May-BELLE? It's lovely.

I like both Annalise and Annalisa. You might also like Althea, Dorothea and Pearl? For boys like a PP's suggestion of Edison, and you might also like Anselm, Anton and Edmund.

LaRevolution · 27/08/2023 15:00

Also Florian for a boy?

LocalHobo · 27/08/2023 15:00

Pilot - girl
Buzz - boy

Definitely had people reply back with "Mabel?" and it has to be confirmed but it is definitely not that often and if they see it written down, it is always pronounced correctly!

Maybelle is just 2 syllables! Annalisa is 4, that is what I meant by fussy, especially with the double "uh" endings in both names in it

We pronounce it as May-BELLE and thank you! People are usually rather positive about the name and DD loves telling her name when she is asked 😂

@sunglassesonthetable I came back to add Sidonie!

OP, I think the mother in the Carter Family was Mother Maybelle? Very pretty name.

I also second the above suggestion of Juniper.

PollyAmour · 27/08/2023 15:12

I love Maybelle and Sailor and I would go for something equally cute for your third baby. Jacob or Rafferty for a boy, Eleanor or Bryony for a girl.

Annalisa sounds more 'fussy' because it could be Anna Lisa. Anneli might be an alternative.

SuperiorM · 27/08/2023 15:24

Fabia - I liked this as an option but it was then used as a car name. On the other hand, Octavia was and that’s also nice

Goldbar · 27/08/2023 15:31

Anchor, Duffle or Tide for a boy.

Bertha, Coral or Navy for a girl.
