Sibling for Maybelle and Sailor

We are due our 3rd baby and we are not sure on the sex and will most likely be waiting until the birth. We currently have a Maybelle and Sailor and like unusual names. For a girl we are looking at a similar concept of 2 names together but unfortunately most of them have "belle" or "bella" in them which we can obviously not have. Annalisa is a current favourite but we think it's really quite fussy and think 4 syllables might seem too much but that's a bit weird considering names like Isabella do not feel the same so maybe it is okay and we are overthinking that? We also love Roseanne! For a boy we have a few more ideas and like Archer and Sawyer, think we can't really have Sailor and Sawyer. I'm not a fan of them sharing initials. Other boy names on the list are Mason, Fletcher and Carter. Thank you

Annalise is a lovely name. Maybelle and Sailor are pretty awful

What's the need in that comment?

What a horrible thing to say about OPs children's names!!

Different to your names but do have the short name idea

Juniper (Juno or Junie)
Penelope - Poppy-Nella-Nell etc

I too love Maybelle. It's the little sister's name in The Bridge to Terrabithia and I've loved it since then.

maybebalancing · 27/08/2023 16:15

Your names are very American ( I live there so not passing judgement)
There are lots of other similar type names to choose from.
Lots of which have been suggested above. But I would look at American name boards for suggestions that you might like.

I'm not sure what you wanted to achieve with that. If you wanted to comment on some of the names I was considering, then sure, after all I am wanting opinions and suggestions. To say a horrible thing about the names of my current children is just nasty, they are named that. Would you just turn around and say that to me/them when they introduce themselves as well, considering I was only saying them to get some ideas for new suggestions, or is it just online when you can hide behind a screen?

Ignore the nasty poster. Obviously an unhappy individual if they want to make you feel bad about your names; which by the way are very cool

Adelyn for a less fussy combination name? Adele plus Lyn

Paton for a boy?

Sayinglessanddoingmore2023 · 27/08/2023 17:38

They are lovely names and all those we are familiar with were new once! I quite like Ethel but perhaps it's a bit plain.

Digby is utterly delightful, as is Frankie for a girl or boy.

Some people get a kick out of being negative.....ignore and focus on your bump.

Oh chill your beans. Just a bit of a southern US theme going on.

Should have been Lady Bird anyway after Lady Bird Johnson went of former POTUS.

I like Archer, but prefer Asher. Also like Rowan.

Not keen on Roseanne, makes me think of the sitcom. Rosalie is pretty.
