Kinvara or Kerensa?

Or any similar suggestions?

Doesn’t have to start with K, these are just two we like. I also liked Saskia but DH thinks she’ll be called Sassy for short.

There's a pretty town in Ireland, Galway I think, called Kinvara which is I assume where you've got that name from.

I think it is nice as a name for a girl.

Doidontimmm · 20/08/2023 08:31

They sound made up

Kinvara is a town in Ireland.

frippu · 20/08/2023 08:57

They sound made up

except they aren't

DinnaeFashYersel · 20/08/2023 08:57

Oh dear don't.

cheezncrackers · 20/08/2023 08:57

They're all awful. Sorry! Saskia is the least awful, but I still don't like it.

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 20/08/2023 08:58

I have taught several girls called Saskia and they have all been known as Saskia, never Sassy.

KirstenBlest · 20/08/2023 09:01

Saskia is much nicer than Kinvara or Kerensa.

frippu · 20/08/2023 09:02

Baby name boards here are so weird. It's like the posters live in incredibly ignorant bubbles with zero diversity.

CherryMaple · 20/08/2023 09:02

I knew a Kerenza. Really pretty name.

I know a Saskia who is shortened to Sass.

OriginalBin · 20/08/2023 09:09

Do you have some connection to the village of Kinvara in southwest Galway? That would still be quite weird, though, like calling your child Boscastle or Staithes. It’s also a fairly well-known natural skincare range.

CurlewKate · 20/08/2023 09:09

Of the two I prefer Kinvara. Simply because it's less likely to be misheard.

Neverseenbefore · 20/08/2023 09:10

I know a Kerenza. It’s a nice name, and not made up. I like Saskia too.

AlwaysFreezing · 20/08/2023 09:25

Kezia is lovely and has the vibe.

I like Karensa, but I am partial to a Cornish name.

KirstenBlest · 20/08/2023 09:30

Keziah is nice but people will say it as Kez-ya not Kez-eye-a, which is a shame

cherryassam · 20/08/2023 09:32

I like Kerensa / Kerenza too, definitely not made up and very evocative of Cornwall.

Kinzie?

WimpoleHat · 20/08/2023 10:28

I know a Karenza - I must admit, I thought it was made up! So I’ve learned something from this thread!

Darkherds · 20/08/2023 10:31

Kinvara is the name of a range of skincare.

Thefamilywaster · 20/08/2023 10:32

They sound like names for the contraceptive pill. Ditch both.

Whatsthepoint1234 · 20/08/2023 10:44

Kerensa as it’s an actual name.

Kinvara is just a place in Ireland…

I must agree.

I like Kerensa and Saskia the best, but also think Kinvara has distinctive pretty sound.

It’s a very nice place!

no stranger than children called Kerry, Clare, Tyrone

VenusClapTrap · 20/08/2023 11:10

I like Kerenza/Karensa. And Keziah. Saskia doesn’t have to be a Sassy and is a nice name. Do you like any of the suggestions from pps? There are some lovely ones. I’ll add Kendra and Danica.

Jasperdale · 20/08/2023 11:11

Oh neither they sound like birth control pills. Saskia is better
