Hazel is gorgeous - it would definitely be a contender if we were having a second daughter. Lovely nature/colour imagery, nice mellow feel but the spiky Z in the middle prevents it from being too soft or twee. From a teacher perspective it’s also a very ‘well behaved’ name - haven’t come across loads of Hazels but the several I have were all unfailingly lovely (and also very artistic/creative for some reason).
Tessa is very nice too and is definitely underused, but it does always leave me with a nagging feeling that it should be short for something (and I dislike Theresa/Therese).
May is perfectly inoffensive but feels a bit insipid and nothingy compared to the others - as a PP has said this is probably due to its huge overuse as a middle name.
Noelle is pretty as a potential middle name for a Christmas baby but otherwise I’m not hugely keen.
