Looking for a cute nickname for our little guy, Luke Timothy. Grandpa gives all the kids nicknames, and he asked for ideas. Other cousins, for example, are Benjamin Beau and his nickname is JamBo. Ireland Noelle is Leni Elle. Weird family thing, I know.

LuTim (pronounced Lootim)?

Needmorelego · 25/07/2023 15:53

(I love JamBo by the way 😍)

Hmm everything I’m coming up with sounds like a pharmaceutical name I’m afraid 😄

Seasideanticscanleadtosandybuckets · 25/07/2023 15:53

Lumo?

GettingJigglypuffWithIt · 25/07/2023 15:53

Lothy? Lukimo?

Needmorelego · 25/07/2023 15:55

Lukothy?
No sure that flows though?

CloverHilla · 25/07/2023 15:56

I'd go with LT.

I always thought nicknames are best when they organically develop rather than contrived

This unless it's an obvious abbreviation of your full name!

LosingTheBelly · 25/07/2023 16:30

I'd say 'Lucky'. First part of Luke and the last letter of Timothy

Lumo?

I was going to suggest this, and think it’s the best of all the suggestions!

See also, Luti.

I couldn't agree more. Most of the nicknames on MN are merely diminutives of a given name.

Eltee

Lulu Tim
Louie Tim
Lucky Tim
Lucky Moth

Ireland Noelle should have been Ireand. Missed a trick there.

Luti

JadeClade · 25/07/2023 19:02

my Timothy gets "moth"

SavvyMaria · 25/07/2023 19:06

Agree that nicknames should happen organically.

But of the suggestions, Lucky is cute. These things start as Lucky, go to Lucky Ducky, then just Ducky, on on Duckster etc etc etc. Nicknames just happen.

LadyKX · 25/07/2023 19:08

I was thinking LuTi as well
Was going to say LuTi too (but thought you might think that was the name LuTi Too!)

LadyKX · 25/07/2023 19:08

thinking about it, I like LuTi Tu.
so that’s now my vote 👍🏻
