Nickname for Luke Timothy

Looking for a cute nickname for our little guy, Luke Timothy. Grandpa gives all the kids nicknames, and he asked for ideas. Other cousins, for example, are Benjamin Beau and his nickname is JamBo. Ireland Noelle is Leni Elle. Weird family thing, I know.

I might be a bit simple here, but why don't you just call him Luke?

If Granddad gives the dc nicknames, he has to come up with them! Otherwise it's weird...

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

kitsuneghost · 26/07/2023 15:37

Lukati

JeandeServiette · 26/07/2023 15:56

It is used in Africa as a term of abuse about Kenyans (it is song)
A bit like calling the French Frogs or the English Yorkshire puddings

It isnt a nice term to call someone.

Who calls the English "Yorkshire puddings"?

I know the French say "rosbifs" (roast beefs).

I always thought nicknames are best when they organically develop rather than contrived

Yep, you don’t pick nicknames they just happen

Ireland Noelle should have been Ireand. Missed a trick there.

This has really tickled me.

Needmorelego · 26/07/2023 17:55

@Horriblewoman I don’t get the “Ireand” name. What am I missing that should be obvious 😂
Yes nicknames usually just evolve but this is apparently the Grandad’s “thing”. No harm in that. The amount of Grandad’s out there that have silly names from their grandchildren - what’s wrong with it being the other way around for once?

Needmorelego · 26/07/2023 17:56

@Horriblewoman …..hold on. I think I’ve got it.
There’s “no L”.
😂

SuzeeQ12 · 26/07/2023 18:41

Thanks for all the great suggestions! Grandpa has a few favorites and is trying them out to see what best rolls off his tongue!

I was also thinking Lumo, or maybe Luthy (like Ruthy but with an L).

Housenoob · 26/07/2023 18:58

Lumos, especially if you're a Harry Potter fan.

WILTYjim · 26/07/2023 19:08

Ludo. This is the only answer.
