Baby names

Help - baby girl name to go with 3 other siblings!

tm123x · 21/07/2023 20:51

Found out a few days ago we are expecting a beautiful baby girl which we are so so excited about, however we are really struggling for names.

We have 3 other children - Isabella, Arthur and Archie. The names we have so far are:

Dulcie
Adelaide
Margo
Aubrey

Suggestions and ideas are so welcome!

Her middle name will be Olivia if that helps.

thank you!

Ah, I was thinking Octavia until you said the middle name was Olivia!

I’m getting vowels and MC vibes so…

Imogen
Alicia
Arabella
Emily
Evelyn
Odette (my DD’s middle name!)

Other thoughts:

Genevieve
Fiona
Cecily
Harriet

Of the yours -
Dulcie - sweet but didn’t feel like a grown ups name? Not sure how it would date
Adelaide - nice but makes me think of Australia!
Margo - love it but prefer Margot
Aubrey - always makes me think of Audrey!

Aubrey is such a favourite and timeless

Aubrey is traditionally a boy's name, and it starting wth the brothers' names starting with A might make it seem more so.

I like Olivia a lot more than your choices., so I'd use Olivia Margo.
Not quite what you asked.

Imogen is nice. I think you need something that doesn't look too plain next to Isabella

I have a thing about patterns so I’d be thinking of ‘I’ names:

Imogen Olivia
Isla Olivia
Iris Olivia
Ivy Olivia
Ines Olivia
India Olivia
Indigo Olivia
Indie Olivia
Ianthe Olivia
Iona Olivia
Imelda Olivia
Inessa Olivia
Iliana Olivia
Indiana Olivia

Juliette or Juliet.

Charlotte
Florence
Harriet
Nancy

I'd avoid any name that starts with a vowel.

Prefer Olivia as the first name but also like some suggestions above- Imogen especially

Thanks all - Olivia is my niece so we can’t use it unfortunately!

My immediate thought was Ophelia but that would be a bit much with Olivia.

I think that Margot, Isla or Imogen would be nice.

Out of your options, I think Margo goes best

arthur, Isabella, Archie and

ivy
iris

phoebe
clara
matilda
florence
eliza
evelyn
eleanor
harriet
penelope
nora
violet
beatrice
lillian
mabel

Agree it can't be too plain. And I'd avoid an A name because then Isabella would be the only odd one out. Dulcie is way too cutesie/not classy to me and the others a bit short /harsh sounding next to Isabella.

How about Isabella, Arthur, Archie and...

Rosalia
Henrietta
Azaleah
Leonora
Danielle
Eliza
Ilaria
Gabriella

Congratulations btw!

I think not Dulcie is the main thing (is it a name?!) also ideally not Aubrey which is traditionally male and sounds it

Adelaide is nice - quite popular
Margot nice but very overdone right now

Adela is a more unusual version

or maybe

Zoe
Verity
Imogen
Ines
Lois
Clio
Marianne

Thanks all - I love Saskia that’s been mentioned. I am really set on Dulcie at the moment even though it’s been vetoed 😰 I love Sienna and Florence too!

Agree that Aubrey is mostly a boy’s name in this country. There is an amazing female jazz singer/trombonist called Aubrey Logan but she is American.

Only Margot -preferably spelled like that -out of your list. Aubrey is a boy’s name, so not right.
Elise
Beatrice
Clementine
Polly
Daphne

Adelaide is beautiful. Im not keen on the rest of your list. I do like Saskia and Florence.

Does your Isabella gets nm. Izzy or Bella? If so I'd perhaps consider something like. Roseanna /Rosalia. Nm Rosie
Georgia/Georgianna nm Georgie or Annie
Elizabeth nm Lizzie or Beth

I did want to suggest Sadie as I feel it would work well with the other. 3
