Leila is beautiful. Congratulations on your new daughter.

BabsDylan · 16/07/2023 09:17

Lucy, underused these days!

Leila quite popular…

PickledScrump · 16/07/2023 09:17

Leila had the pronounciation issues of Lay-la vs Lee-la so depends on how much that bothers you.

Newusernameaug · 16/07/2023 09:21

Leila pronounced Lee-La is that’s more unusual :)

veiledsentiments · 16/07/2023 09:23

Laila, pronounced Lay la. Mine is 25 years old. Beautiful name.

HAF1119 · 16/07/2023 10:10

For me Leila

KirstenBlest · 16/07/2023 11:38

Lucy. I quite like Leila but names like Lily and Lila are too popular.
Would say Leila as Leela. Not keen on Layla

MargotDeWitt · 16/07/2023 11:39

Lucy. I have one aged 13, and she is awesome!

Lucy 🥰

SophieHope7 · 16/07/2023 12:07

We nearly named ours Leila (pronounced Lila)

Both are lovely names!

Lamelie · 16/07/2023 12:08

Both lovely but Lucy just pips it!

CandleWick4 · 16/07/2023 12:22

Leila but maybe think about spelling it Layla. Helps with the pronunciation. I have a Layla and I think it’s lovely.

However Lucy is a very classic and pretty and underused name these days.

I think you can’t go wrong with either!

Honeybeesintrees · 16/07/2023 13:49

I have a Lucy and it suits her perfectly.
Leila was on our list but like others worried about the issues of pronunciation as there are so many similar names so my vote is Lucy

pambeeslyhalpert2 · 16/07/2023 21:01

Congratulations! Lucy is lovely

shoopshoopdedoo · 16/07/2023 21:13

I prefer Lucy, but both are lovely.

popicenice · 16/07/2023 21:14

Lucy now just reminds me of Lucy letby

clobie · 16/07/2023 21:15

Leila - Lucy is very overused. There are 4 Lucys in my DN class, my sister is called Lucy, and so is my friend. Leila is more unique and is very pretty.

My sister also hates her name because it sounds like Loo-seat

salamithumbs · 16/07/2023 21:16

Both nice but I prefer Lucy, and agree it will save all the Laila/Leila/Leyla/Layla spelling hassle!

ChimpyChops · 16/07/2023 21:18

I love Lucy out of the two ❤️

However, if spelt Layla then I would struggle to choose!

Leila depends on how you want to pronounce it. I know a Leila (Lee-la) and a Layla, both over 40.

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/07/2023 21:29

Lucy.

namechanged221 · 16/07/2023 21:30

Lucy... classic

RoseMartha · 16/07/2023 21:47

Lucy

JobMatch3000 · 16/07/2023 21:54

How about Lucille?

FoodFann · 16/07/2023 21:59

Lucy is classic and pretty. Leila sounds common to me, sorry!
