And I doubt a Scot would use Paisley.

I'm Scottish and have never heard the name Marsaili. What area is it most popular in?

It’s gaelic so maybe more popular in highlands? It’s not very common though!

Ceit / Ceitidh is a lovely name.

It’s on Duolingo where the non-native Gaelic speakers tend to congregate.

RachelNoire · 02/07/2023 22:07

For speakers that should say learners!

Slaistery · 02/07/2023 22:12

i know a couple of marsailis - both pronounced marsilly (or near enough). Islands, both native speakers and not exactly young

CallieQ · 02/07/2023 22:12

Ailsa

Fiona is definitely for a revival. Lots of 40and 50yr old Fiona’s knocking around.

Eilish (although it could be Irish?)

please not Alba. No one would know how to pronounce it (alBa or AlaPa)

Morvern
Mirven
Morag
