You haven’t given Cicely as an option, but that would be my choice, mainly because of Cicely Mary Barker, the Flower Fairies illustrator. I love her work.

ODFOx · 19/06/2023 21:53

Cecily

Daisy62 · 19/06/2023 22:38

Cecily. But prefer Cecile to any of them.

Giselletheunicorn · 19/06/2023 22:40

Celia is lovely

continentallentil · 19/06/2023 23:18

Either Cecilia or Cecily depending on what goes best with your surname - if it’s a draw then Cecily. I also like Cecile

hopsalong · 19/06/2023 23:29

I have a friend with a daughter called Cecil, which I think I prefer to some of these version. (Pronounced See-sil.)

Personally I have always very much liked Celia which is simpler and more elegant than the alternatives.

Cecilia offers the most options - Ceci, Cecil, Cecily, CHi CHi, Ceels, Lia etc

Orders76 · 20/06/2023 00:21

Totally different ballpark but if it's because if music you could also try Augusta, saint Augustine said that singing was to pray twice

Seeleyboo · 20/06/2023 00:28

Seeley

midsomermurderess · 20/06/2023 00:31

Cecily.

Dazedandbemused0 · 20/06/2023 00:33

Celia and Cecilia are my very favourites. Love them. Cecily is nice, and don’t like Sisley.

fridaynight1 · 20/06/2023 00:33

Any of the names beginning with a C.
Sisley is awful.

Underminer · 20/06/2023 00:34

Celia is a lovely name.

Cecilia (with an i) or Cecily. Isn’t Sisley a brand? Celia feels more dated.

100% agree

user1492757084 · 20/06/2023 00:55

I love Celia, Cecille and Cicely best.
I like the flower connection with Cicely and also the author Cicely Mary Barker.

I don't mind Cecily and Cecilia is fine.

CallieQ · 20/06/2023 00:59

Sisley is not a name, Cecelia a mouthful
Other two ok

user1477391263 · 20/06/2023 00:59

I like all of them (not helpful!) but Cecily is the best.

If you go for Cecile or Cecilia, please do spell them that way, not Cecille (mentioned by a previous poster) or Cecelia! They are beautiful names but look awkward when misspelled.

user1477391263 · 20/06/2023 01:00

And not “Cecil” either; it’s a man’s name and makes me think of a grumpy 1980s cabinet minister!

VerasRaincoat · 20/06/2023 01:02

Cecilia, very pretty lyrical name

sjpkgp1 · 20/06/2023 01:25

My Mum (aged 81) is called Cecilia (pronounced Sesseeliya) but she is known by Celia (seeliya). I thought about Cecily for my daughters but was worried it would be shortened to "Sess" or "Silly". I'd agree with another poster, if you choose it, please think about the spelling. It is Cecilia, not Cecelia. Also she will be called "seal" at some point by those name shorteners....which is fine most of the time. Good luck in whatever you choose xx

Elspethelf · 20/06/2023 03:36

Cecily or Cecilia, CeCe for short!

JoniBlue · 20/06/2023 04:16

Cecilia is nice.

apric0t · 20/06/2023 06:49

My eldest is Cecelia and she's a live wire 🔥 we chose the spelling so she can easily use the nicknames Cece which most of her little friends call her at school and at home DH calls her Cece and she gets called Celia or Cecil too ☺️ she was going to be a Rose, but when she popped out Rose seemed much too plain, she just need something a bit MORE and it suits her so well! Such an under rated and under used name!

oldnorsesaga · 20/06/2023 07:12

I understand why you like Sisley, it's good looking. That said, I prefer Cecily since it's more established. Also like Celia, but it's not as usable where I live (non English country)
Not fan of spelling Cecelia. Cecile seems to harder to pronounce than Cecily, and not fan of how Cicely looks.

SmurfetteSalad · 20/06/2023 07:34

Cecilia
