I think unfortunately names ending in A dont
flos that well with Allaway but depends how much it bothers you. I’d pick:

Maeve
Florence
juliet
dorothy
juniper
betsy

isaac
elias

TheMurderousGoose · 11/06/2023 04:42

Girls:
Paloma Allaway
Juliet Allaway
Juniper Allaway
Carmen Allaway
Kasia Allaway
Zoe Allaway
Betsy Allaway
Phoebe Allaway

Boys:
Isaac Allaway
Elias Allaway
Nathaniel Allaway
Casimir Allaway

I've gone with which names flow the best with the surname. It's a good last name that makes for lots of memorable first name/surname combos. But I think Paloma, Carmen and Nathaniel Allaway are my faves.

Luce99 · 11/06/2023 05:13

all the names sound so whimsical and classic, like a book character, good job mama 🥰

Rose
Magdalena (big mouthful)
Pearl
Rose
Beatrix

Juliet
Florence
Juniper
Constance
Zoe
Rose
Pearl

Elias (maybe too much of a mouthful)
Nathaniel

Hellocatshome · 11/06/2023 08:31

I would avoid anything that ends with an a.

Beachywave · 11/06/2023 08:38

The only ones I like and think go are:

Girls:
Zoe
Faith

Boys:
Like

Rauha · 11/06/2023 08:48

I love these from your list:

Girl:
Constance
Carmen

Boy:
Nathaniel

FindingTheFox · 11/06/2023 09:08

You've got some gorgeous names there!
I think names ending in a are awkward with your surname.
My favourites are
Constance
Florence
Juliet
Isaac
Elias
Nathaniel

Swannyb · 11/06/2023 10:47

Girls:

Florence/Flora
Stella
Pearl
Beatrix
Phoebe

Boys:

Isaac
Elias

MerryChristmasToYou · 11/06/2023 11:30

Girls:
Paloma - doesn't flow. Will be Paloma Ralloway
Maeve - flows but I don't like it
Juliet - ok
Florence/Flora - Flo Allaway isn't great. Like Flora but it doesn't flow
Dove - a bit too cleansing bar
Theodora - too long and doesn't flow
Dorothy - lovely
Constance - nice
Carmen - like
Kasia (pronounced Kasha) - doesn't flow
Eleni - pronunciation issues
Stella - like but doesn't flow
Cassia - doesn't flow
Zoe - nice
Faith - fine but Faith Allaway a bit religious slogan-y
Magdalena - too long and doesn't flow
Pearl - goes but not keen
Rose - not with the surname. not sure if it sounds a but rude
Beatrix - ok. Prefer Beatrice
Betsy (Full name Elizabeth) - perfect
Phoebe - ok

Boys:
Isaac - I suck Al away
Luke Look Al away
Elias - too many Ls. El Al
Nathaniel - too many Ls. El Al
Casimir - will get said as Kassim-ear Rallaway

No to all the boy's names.

StartleburpFearsneer · 11/06/2023 13:10

Dove!

StartleburpFearsneer · 11/06/2023 13:10

Isaac.

ourflagmeansdeath · 11/06/2023 13:41

Girls:
Paloma - No to this, not nice to me
Maeve - Pretty
Juliet - Lovely name
Florence/Flora - Both are gorgeous
Juniper - It is nice but I'd cut it off
Dove - No, makes me think of soap rather than bird
Theodora - I like it but would cut it off because people could misread for a boy
Dorothy - It's okay but no
Constance - I don't like virtue names a lot so no
Carmen - Not for me - I tend to separate words so I think car and men lol
Kasia (pronounced Kasha) - Not as nice and would get mispronounced a lot
Eleni - I think it's really nice but there are tons of El names
Stella - Lovely but it's a bit hard, I love Estelle
Cassia - No, would be mispronounced
Zoe - Hard no
Faith - A bit of a hard name to live up to
Rose - Pretty, I much prefer it for first name
Magdelena - Clumpy and too long
Pearl - Not for a first name
Beatrix - I much prefer Beatrice
Betsy (Full name Elizabeth - is it overdone?) - Yes it is overdone and makes me think of a cow
Phoebe - Lovely

Boys:
Isaac - It's alright
Luke - Love Luca and Lucas, not so much Luke
Elias - Alias - no.
Nathaniel - I really like it
Casimir (pretentious?) - Yes it is sorry

I'd keep Maeve, Juliet, Florence/Flora, Rose and Phoebe off that but I do still like a lot of the other names just to shorten it down these are the ones I'd pick. I think they all go well with your surname so just depends which you prefer.

Not as keen on your boys names but I'd go for Luke if it was a shortening for Lucas or Luca and then Nathaniel if those two aren't an option. Both go well with surname Alloway.

Beatrix
Phoebe

Boys: like all but Elias and Nathaniel are my favourites
Isaac

Elias
Nathaniel
Casimir (pretentious?)

midsomermurderess · 11/06/2023 16:51

Stella and Luke.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 11/06/2023 23:50

Elizabeth
Faith
Zoe.
Boys all ok except Casimer.

NurseEssie · 12/06/2023 00:10

Rose

Are you polish ? Magda and Kasia are polish names :)

SheilaFentiman · 12/06/2023 00:16

Nate Allaway doesn’t really flow.

Lucas or Luke Allaway nice

CallieQ · 12/06/2023 00:59

Maeve for girl
Luke for boy

Wrongsideofpennines · 12/06/2023 01:54

We found being practical is easiest to whittle down. So practically speaking - anything with 4 syllables is too many when you have a 3 syllable surname. Anything ending in an A doesn't flow well. Anything that gives perhaps awkward initials (Sweet FA?) or anything that sounds like you're saying something else with the surname has to go.

So I would cross off:
Theodora, Florence, Flora, Paloma, Magdalena, Elizabeth, Faith, Cassia, Kasia, Stella and Carmen and Luke (Sounds like come on/look all the way)

Theoldwoman · 12/06/2023 02:28

Luke definitely for a boy.

Girls I love:

Zoe
Faith
Juliet

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/06/2023 16:23

I would shortlist to

Only like Zoe from your girls' list.
Luke my favourite boys ( I have one), also like Isaac and Elias.

AdaColeman · 12/06/2023 17:13

I'd get rid of all those names ending with A as they don't work with your surname.
I'd also cross off Rose as it's been hugely popular for years, Juniper as too hippy dippy, Dove as too soapy, Betsy as too Victorian kitchen maid, Eleni as no one will pronounce it the way you want it.

I like Casimir best from your boys list.
Isaac and Elias are too biblical for my taste so I wouldn't use them.
